Grant Hill will probably end up in Boston. Why wouldnt he? A chance to win a championship and play with guys like KG, Allen and Pierce and he's a little more conscience about money considering it will be his last NBA contract.

McDyess will probably go somewhere else. He hasnt exactly shown loyalty to Phoenix in the past and Im sure some other team will be willing to offer more than the league minimum that Sarver will be willing to cough up.

So the Suns have no major targets. No major trades on the horizon. And soon no young All-Star PF after we give him away to GS for scrap.

This has been the worst off-season I can remember. Even when we lost McDyess we at least had Googs as a backup. We might have a starting five next year of Biedrins (spelling? Who cares), Lou, Dudley, Richardson and Nash. I mean, how bad could it possilby get?

Since the Suns can't compete for a title now anyway, I'm not concerned about how the contenders are reinforcing themselves.

Watching the Suns go halfway between re-building and re-tooling and, in the end, not accomplishing either.

As long as Marion doesn't sign in Boston I don't really care.

Watching the Suns do NOTHING while teams get Ron Artest, Sheed, and other stars to reinforce an already great roster.

It doesn't really bother me to watch all the contenders getting better. We are so far from being contenders at this point that it doesn't really matter what the top tier teams are doing.

That said, I can't say that I am pissed "watching the Suns do nothing" either. It is the 5th of July and yall act like you expected the Suns to go out and make some big splash in free agency or something? Do yall have any clue that there is a financial side to the NBA as well? If we are sitting here at the end of the summer and this team has done nothing then I'll be fairly upset. If we are sitting here at the beginning of 2010 and this team doesn't look EXTREMELY different then I will be VERY upset. However, as of July 5th I am not that upset because I didn't expect much to happen at this point.

I here everyone on here complain over and over and over again, but really what have you wanted the Suns to do up to this point of the offseason? Trade Amare for the lowball package Golden State offered? Sign a premier free agent that we don't have the money to sign? If you are not either A) a championship contending team or B) Have more money to offer than anyone else, than you simply aren't going to get premier free agents. How do some of yall not understand that? Some please explain to me what you think the Suns could have done to made this offseason more productive thus far (excluding some asinine trade proposal that you made up that "works on the realGM trade checker".

It is July 5th. Can we please stop acting like the offseason is already over.

If the team is willing to trade Amare, they need to be willing to trade Nash..... this half-assed rebuilding effort won't work unless they go all the way

I agree it's gotta be all or nothing and one way or the other. It is a waste to float around in the middle.

Its both because we watch the suns do nothing anyway but since other teams are getting better its just added on to it. I think they should go rebuild because its pointless to retool their are way too many teams with stacked rosters. Spurs, Lakers, Magic, Celtics, Cleveland. We need to just rebuild and get our pick back somehow.

In Order:
1) Move Nash for BA package (getting closer i think)

2) Move Shaq for BA package
You must be registered for see images attach

3) Let Grant Hill walk (looks that way, though not official yet)

4) Add a player with size and defensive upside in the draft
You must be registered for see images attach

5) Re-aquire a '2010 draft pick by trading(in some combination)
Shaq/Nash/JRich. (Looking very unlikely).

6) Shop Amare and test the market but don't cave to an inferior deal.
You must be registered for see images attach

Thus far i'm fairly satisfied. Thing is, without moving Nash we're not going to know what we've really got here in terms of our young guns going forward.
You can't call this a rebuilding project without moving Nash.

Just a doggone minute, haven't you guys heard about our newly acquired forward - Flexibility! Kerr keeps re-iterating how we're going to have Flexibility playing forward...

Hill to Boston should be announced Monday.

I read that Hill was meeting with New York on Monday. Boston could offer Hill the biannual exception worth $1.9 million. I believe Hill is getting better offers than Boston.

Boston also offers a chance at a ring before he retires.

I'm unaware of where the Suns have retooled this summer? Looks like they are cutting salary and looking for trades to move Amare. Seems obvious to me Nash is saying he wants to be traded and prefers NY (a resigned Lee perhaps). Hill is meeting w/ NY today. There's still lots of summer left and it seems obvious the Suns are rebuilding. I'm happy they aren't just taking anything for Amare. This is going to be messy for a few years, it always is. Look at Portland when they went through this a few years back, it was aweful. This is never quick and painless.

Solid. The FO rhetoric early on seemed to hint at retooling. As of late i'd agree that the rebuilding process may be taking shape...we'll know for sure very soon i think.

Boston does indeed offer this opportunity. I also think NY will make a strong pitch and be in the playoffs this coming season with DA.

The thing is, if Hill leaves Phoenix to wherever, this may change the Suns thinking from tinkering to rebuilding. The Suns would then be short two starters (Shaq and Hill) with no realistic chance to be a playoff contender unless the Suns pull-off a miraculous trade. It's then easy to see why Nash might want to go to a contender. I wish Kerr had a plan but I think he is just waiting on Grant Hill to decide. Maybe the same with Nash.
