As much credit that is given to McVay, Snead is the real reason the Rams continue to be successful.

Look at the Cardinals vs. Rams. The Cardinals drop a high pick on Zaven Collins, a nice ILB prospect. He goes on to barely play all year, and while he looked pretty good, the Rams draft Ernest Jones later and he plays significantly more. I would rather have Zaven Collins, but the Rams have basically parlayed those first rounders into Jalen Ramsey and Matt Stafford while the Cardinals have a nice ILB prospect sitting on the bench.

I think the piper will have to be paid at some point and that the constant churning of the roster will impact the Rams at some point, but not a major fall off like some fans are predicting.
You'd rather have Zaven Collins at this point? Jones isn't lighting the world on fire, but he's a world beater compared to Collins. I get that you probably believe VJ has held him back. You also clearly felt he would be good after the draft (a nice ILB prospect). I didn't rate him, which probably clouds my judgment. As things stand, however, give me Jones.

Zaven WAS held back by Vance Joseph by not playing the guy!

But I'd rather find a capable starter at ILB/MLB in the third round than using a premium pick. Imagine if the Cardinals had drafted a regular contributor in round one instead of a guy who sat on the bench...

Would've been nice, for sure. And, as much as I don't rate Collins, VJ should have damn well been playing him.

Imagine if the Cards could do that, regardless of the position. They haven't been able to do that since 2016. And even he sat on the bench the first year...

I mean, we've seen 1st round picks that were completely unplayable and Collins doesn't fit that bill.

If I'm Keim, I'm pretty pissed that the coaching staff farted away a year of development.

Going back to the Rams, they were pretty much forced to play Jones when they traded away Young to the Broncos. Troy Reeder....man that dude has no business playing consistently too. As much crap as our fans have talked about Hicks, Reeder is a minus athlete and he gets physically dominated at times.

Keim is such a strange case.

He routinely blows premium picks on either guys who don't pan out or are only ok at nonpremium positions.

But he has presided over 4 winning seasons, and probably one of the more successful eras in Cardinals football. I know that isn't saying much, but he has built two iterations of winning teams.

He makes a lot of good mid tier signings and trades. He just sucks with premium picks and big FA signings.

Considering he only played 20% of snaps, many of which were by necessity at years end at edge. I’d say Vance Joseph was at least pretty close to disagreeing with this comment.

And as much as keim should maybe be mad at Joseph it’s not a stretch to say the opposite argument could be made too . . . Vance could be mad at keim for drafting crap players and signing oft-injured (I mean we depended upon alford, watt, and philips as starters) for him to use.
