it will be podcast by lunchtime or so over at KTAR.com so you can catch the whole thing for yourself - but key take away:

final question from Wolf:

Will you approach this year's free agency in the same way you have before, focusing on increasing the depth of the team rather than focusing on big name high priced free agents?

Whis:

Its worked for us so far, so yes. We will look to add veterans wherever we can that we feel will improve the football team.

my take: all those hoping for Terrel Suggs-- adjust your expectations now.

They could always pull something out of their hats but I agree without a doubt.

Our big free agent signing could end up being Owen Daniels - TE, and a bunch of Hood, Gandy, Haggans, Laboy types.

My darkhorse wil only cost about what it cost to get Laboy free agent if we lose Dansby - Channing Crowder.

Fine by me as long as they take care of the core.

If Dansby can't be signed, then Suggs is a must. However, Dansby better not walk away w/ nothing in return.

Suggs will be great but he won't replace the void in the middle. Suggs and Dansby play different positions

i didn't take it like that at all. Suggs is a veteran that i'm sure they think will improve the team. Whiz isn't, and can't,come out and say we're targeting Terrel Suggs.

I would maybe look at signing Derrick Ward, especially if Edge is traded.

i thought Whis responded to the "improve depth vs high priced guys" comment.

Suggs could very well be the priciest of the high priced guys

Whis also said he got a call from Obama telling him he was impressed with the Cardinals

I have watched him play alot here in Miami and am interested in why you think he would be a good fit.

Seems like a Laboy type like you mentioned but my indiacations are his self value is much higher then reality.

He'll definitely be up there but Haynesworth will probably be the priciest along with Peppers,if he hits the market. Interestingly, i remember Charlie Casserly saying he thought Dunta Robinson would be the second most in-demand guy.

BTW, whoever mentioned Owens Daniels . He would be an excellent pick up.

I doubt Terrell Syggs will even get a call from the Cardinals.

Let's take care of our house first. The only thing that is puzzling to me is Dansby says he doesn't want to be tagged because he wants a long term deal. However if the Cards tag him he will earn around 10m, right? Thats 18 mil in 2 years.

On the Cards side, if they tag him you got to wonder why. Wouldn't it just be cheaper to pony up 20 mil guaranteed over 4 or 5 years than just tag him? We cetainly wouldn't be taking a 10m cap hit this year.

Key word there is "reality". By the time reality hits he will still be on the market looking for a deal when the money is all but gone like many free agents make the mistake of doing. He either excepts the reaility of what teams will offer him or he waits and makes even less. Thus if he signs late or early he will still be good value.

He would be a good fit because he is a thumper and has been getting better and better in coverage as well. Good replacement for Dansby if we need at a reasonable price.

One low-key FA that would REALLY improve the weakest area of this team.

Pro-Bowl P Shane Lechler.
