I am completely mystified and utterly fed up with Whisenhunts irrational love affair with this decrepit player. Robinson is so far from serviceable, so utterly useless, that he has to remain only a deep depth rotational player. We've known this for weeks and weeks. And yet he keeps starting. And we keep seeing the defense continually gashed on first and second drives. And we keep watching the middle of the defense solidify when Dan Williams enters the game. Williams is a beast inside, yet Robinson continues to start.

So, is it Wis's idiotic unwillingness to start rookies, or is it a matter of personal loyalty to a player that is clearly finished? Either way, it is stupid and unforgivable.

Just curious, does Whiz untilize his final say in who starts on defense or does he leave that up to Davis?

Dan Williams played many, many snaps -- including the 1st quarter. Probably more than Robinson.

why is everyone so hung up on starting?

You all asked for the Cards to try for a better draft pick, Whiz is trying to oblige.

Sheesh.

Yes... but, give the kid credit as he did come back in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and played extremely, extremely well...

Because the opening drive is often crucial to the game. Because we get demolished on defense on opening drives, with RBs gashing up the middle.

We have to use Robinson on occasion to spell Williams. I get that. I don't like it, but I get it. But why, in the beginning of the game, would you sit the player that is head and shoulders better? It makes no sense.

You are so right about the first drive, Stout. It can set the tempo for the entire game, as it did yesterday when Carolina ran for major chunks left and right.

In addition...it causes Whiz to lose credibility with the players when he has insisted that the best players win the jobs. A hypocracy that is one of the reasons why the coaching staff has been so ineffective motivating this team.

Whiz insists "it's not for lack of effort"...again what tapes are he watching? Effort is both physical and mental...and yesterday he had more players shying away from contact than delivering it. Blown assigments, penalties and dropped passes count as well...those speak to a significant lack of effort.

Many things Whiz has done this year are baffling. Lets see if he learns from his mistakes this year. Remember he was a rookie HC when we got him and he has fast success. This is really his first hard look at reality. He has never really had to make many adjustments or changes.

I give him one more year before I turn on him.

Did you see Tim Hightower start off the Denver game with runs of 1,0,2 and -1 yards and then lose yet another fumble? UGLY

Did you see Timmy finish with 148 yards and 2 TDs? BEAUTIFUL!
