Zing! Nice one, CC!

What's the problem? He'd only be second guessing the Coach like so many others on this board

We've been second guessing the Cardinal coaches and FO on this board for years. Most of the time we are right.

It's the hard core homers who support every single move the Cardinals have ever made who are wrong most of the time.

Two winning seasons in 12 years. 119 losses since 1998. And people wonder why fans second guess the team. We're going to be worse than the Jets fans still clinging to a SB 40 years ago.

My point was to make light of a situation, not to open the usual distribe that only proves that 20/20 hindsight is infallible.

I don't that anyone is avoiding the "potential" for "epic bust" with Cam Newton. I personally don't think that the potential for an "epic" bust along the lines of JaMarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf are there--no one's really made the parallels clear. But is the "potential" any greater for "bust" than there is with Von Miller? Than there was with Levi Brown?

Why?

Neither of those guys have the hype that sCam has. Not remotely.

And I don't see Dawg waxing poetic about Von Miller either.

I just see most of his problems as being so far off the field. Everything he does right is on the field, I do know about his past. I really do believe ( might be the ganja butter ;)) Newton has everything he needs to get her done in the NFL. Physically speaking, bust is the furthest thing from my mind.

Off field, whatever. I don't know or care so much about that.

He has physical tools.

His footwork sucks. His reading of defenses is limited to read-read-run at most. That won't work in the NFL. His legs are a threat, and they buy him some openings...IN COLLEGE. He is not a top 5 draft pick, and is not an immediate impact player.

He's a phenomenal athlete, and a great college QB. He's not Andrew Luck, who IS a phenomenal quarterback and translates to the NFL much better. Cam shouldn't be hyped like Luck.

And I also don't want Blah Gabbert either.

Draft Defense.

Only caught part of the interview...

-Said he & Fitz talked with Kurt at various times last season, but knew it was a long shot he'd unretire ala Favre.
-Mentioned that one of the keys to an improved season besides the obvious of better play at the quarterback position was contributions and improvement from the younger players, e.g. Greg Toler, O'Brien Schofield, etcetera.
-Is going to Augusta this weekend for a day of the Masters.
-Is optimistic about keeping Larry Fitzgerald, saying the franchise wants Larry to retire as a Cardinal many years in the future.
