This is who you WANT to start against Seattle, not who you think Whis will pick.

Seriously though, Skelton has shown me more in the preseason, so I will pick him.

I would have voted for "other" if that had been an option. As it wasn't, I voted for Lindley. Not that I think Lindley is the next big thing but I am less than impressed by Kolb and Skelton. Maybe it's time to let the next man up prove he's a scrub too.

Put Kolb in the right offense and I think he can be a mediocre starting quarterback. We aren't the right offense. Give Skelton another year and I think he could become a solid backup QB with enough up-side to envision him as a spot starter. We don't have another year, we need a QB now. Give the job to Lindley and odds are he fails miserably. If he shocks us all, great, we have our QB of the future. If he plays to form we'll at least go into the offseason with the surety that we have to chase the best prospect available.

There is no realistic situation that the Cardinals pay Kolb $9 million dollars next year to be their QB.

Thus in my opinion you HAVE to start Skelton and see where he is. If he is competent for a season, then you can draft O-Line next year.

Otherwise you are targetting a top QB.

If a person who had never seen either player had to pick and all he had was the statistics he would be compelled to pick Skelton. Whiz knows what the stats show and knows if he starts Kolb regardless of stats/injuries, etc and Kolb bombs out he would open himself up to some harsh criticism. That may be just in the back of his mind but may be the tipping point for him to start Skelton. If Kolb starts and is terrible I would pile on. If Kolb starts and does real well people can say Whiz is a genius. Clearly he will start whoever he thinks would have the best chance of winning be it Kolb or Skelton. His job may depend on it. He may be between a rock and a hard place and really has no NFL QB on the team and is doomed no matter who he starts.

I voted for Kolb. I really don't know why.

You may be just like Whiz.

I wonder why more teams do not use the no huddle offense. Warner could do it with perfection. I assume Denver will have it in their system now that Manning is there. Of course I understand you have to have an experienced QB who is really good at reading defenses and a coach who trust the QB.

Not at the price they are paying for Kolb. At his salary he should put up Brady/Rodgers like numbers.

I WANT Kolb to start...

want him to stay healthy, not knocked out by an injury of ANY kind. I don't want any more excuses, any more wondering, any more questions about him. If he is who I think he is, then he will be done early in the season and then Skelton gets his chance. If I am wrong and he CAN manage the game and lead the team to the playoffs, then that will be great.

I think Skelton marginally beat Kolb out but he didn't WIN the job. He was just slightly less putrid than Kolb in the preaseason. Not enough to hand him the job. For the investment the team made in him, it has to go with Kolb and lie in the bed they made for themselves.

The season is less dependent on the QB's than another position. I think the success or lack thereof will lie on the running backs. Beanie/Williams/Hyphen/Powell need to take the pressure off of whoever is under center.

I want to see Kolb get the starting nod first. Give him one last chance to show what he has after having an offseason to "learn the offense". Then if he fails there will be no more excuses.

I convinced DuckJake!

I voted for Lindley though I would prefer Bartel. See, I think the Cards should start the QBs in reverse order of who they think is best and have 4 on the roster to start the season. That way by the time the new players on the oline had been together long enough to remember each other's names and started to gel we'd be on our 4th QB and hopefully the best.

Of course we'll have to sign 2-3 FA QBs because our first 3 starters will all be on IR. But we don't care because they are all terrible.

Lindley.

Not because I think he's better or will win more games, but just do like the Rams and Lions did a few years back.

Here's the keys kid, it's gonna hurt for awhile but let's get this overwith.

So sick of looking for our "next" quarterback.

I voted Kolb. He has shown more improvement IMO than Skelton from last year and he was better than Skelton last year. Wins are a team stat. Qb rating is not and he was ten points higher. With that said, I won't be crushed if John gets the nod.
