The No. 4 Purdue Boilermakers survived a first-round challenge from No. 13 High Point, holding off the Panthers for 75-63 victory in Round 1 of the NCAA Tournament in Providence, RI, on Thursday.
Braden Smith and Trey Kaufman-Renn combined to score 41 points in the win.
Purdue advances to face the winner of the No. 5 Clemson vs. No. 12 McNeese State game, which is set to tip off in Providence at 3:15 p.m.
