I was just thinking last night that it is really strange this season not hearing that raspy drawl on the TV/radio broadcast. He was such an integral part of the Suns for so many years I miss having him around :(

He coached some of the best teams the Suns ever had and was always a colorful and fun guy to listen to. I know he's looking down and yelling a few "I told ya so's!" from on high.

RIP Cotton! You are missed :( :( :( :( :(

I think we all miss Cotton, as do the Suns.

The season is dedicated to him and so far it has been a magical season.

Enough with the sad faces. Cotton would want us all to enjoy the season and keep smiling. I don't think anything ever got that guy down.

We miss you Cotton, but your spirit lives on with the Suns and their fans.

Kind of funny you bring this up because my wife asked me last night what the white strip on the Suns uniforms were for. I told her they were for Cotton.

miss cotton? i see him in every game i watch. i hear his voice in the singing of the net every time this team scores. i see him directing this team from the sidelines every time we run a fast brake. every time amare, nash, marion, jj and q step on to the floor. in truth i cant picture that cotton would run this team and differantly and would count it as one of his greatless joys watching this team playing this way.

this team is cotton.

Sorry, sad faces were ME missing him being around (sorry but I'm not always as positive as Cotton) :) I understand that he was always upbeat, even to the very end :)

My heart will always smile when I think of Cotton and his enthusiasm and love of the game and the Suns. The guy was an amazing person! My favorite will be the early days, plaid leisure suits with the huge bell bottoms and the mop of fluffy, white, curly hair! Sartorial splendor at its best :) :) :)

And, yes, he lives in my memories and his spirit will always be there, no doubt about it. But, I miss actually hearing his voice and seeing his smiling face :)

I remember my wife and I attending some kind of fan appreciation day many years ago and wanted Cotton's autograph. He said he was too busy at that moment. We blew it off. However, he came back later looking for us, hunted us down, and sure enough we got his autograph. Our true goal was getting KJ's autograph, but that was near impossible with all the people. In hindsight, we got the best autograph from one of the classiest guys we ever met. That extra effort he made had a huge impact on us. A classier coach there never was.

As I've mentioned here before, Cotton probably has the best seat in the house.

As the season goes on, it does suck that we can't hear the bravado in Cotton's voice as he would have described their play.

I can almost envision word for word what Cotton would be saying.

lmao!!

I love to imitate EJ. I think he is great.

I think it is great that so many former Suns work for the organization. I think that has a lot to do with Cotton's influence.
