Baseball outfielder Alex Verdugo and his girlfriend, Yamille Alcala, have built a life on and off the diamond with their three children.
In his career, Verdugo has played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. In 2025, he signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Braves. Verdugo has said it is his family life, though, that brings him the greatest fulfillment.
Alcala is often seen at Verdugo's games, sporting team gear alongside their children, Efrain, A.J. and Alianna. Whether cheering from the stands or celebrating his achievements, Alcala is a constant presence in his corner.
For Verdugo, having his own family has been transformative.
“I say I got softer, but in reality, man, I just got wiser. I got my priorities switched, it was always just about me, how to get myself to the big leagues, get myself up through the minors, and get there and then solidify yourself. And then I had my kids,” he told the New York Post in 2024.

Verdugo and Alcala are parents to two boys and a girl.
Their oldest, son Efrain, was born on March 16, 2017. The proud mom celebrated her firstborn’s birthday on Instagram in 2025.
“Happy 8TH Birthday to our big hearted, little genius, sweet, loving, funny boy I can’t believe you’re EIGHT!!!” she wrote. “We are so proud of you my love! Keep being you baby. To many many more. We love you so so much!!!
”Verdugo and Alcala welcomed their second son, A.J., around 2021. The baseball player often shares videos of his middle child taking after him, including in July 2024 when Verdugo shared a video on Instagram of A.J. in batting practice.
The couple's youngest child, and only daughter, Alianna Judith, was born on April 29th, 2024.
"The littlest love of our lives was born April 29th and we can’t get enough of her!" Verdugo and Alcala wrote on Instagram at the time.
The MLB star has been open about how fatherhood has profoundly impacted his life and credits his kids with grounding him and reminding him of what truly matters.
“It’s the best thing that I’ve ever done. It beats any home run, it beats any big play I’ve ever done,” the outfielder told the New York Post in 2024. “The biggest play I’ve ever done was holding my son after he was born."
Verdugo continued, "They’ve humbled me a lot, they’ve kind of grounded me a lot as well, and just really helped me just kind of turn into like a kid, and become a man. My kids are my world, man.”

Alcala loves spending time with Verdugo and their children. The pair’s joint Instagram posts show photos of them riding in a carriage around New York City with their boys and visiting Monument Park in Yankee Stadium.
The family posed for Christmas photos in matching red formal wear and themed elf onesies in 2023, when Alcala was pregnant with Alianna.

” the mom of three captioned the holiday slideshow.Alcala also often brings the kids to Verdugo's games.

Throughout his MLB career, Verdugo has suited up for the Dodgers, Red Sox and Yankees — and Alcala has been by his side every step of the way.
A regular at his games, she often decks herself and the kids out in team gear, once sporting a custom denim cropped jacket emblazoned with Verdugo’s name and number during his Red Sox days.
When Verdugo left the Northeastern team in December 2023, he included Alcala and his kids in his goodbye message on Instagram.
"As I reflect on the past four years, I want to thank the Red Sox organization for welcoming me and my family with open arms from day one," he wrote.
