Alan Branch is definitely on the hot seat when it comes to players on the cards roster. If (When) the cards have a winning record this year, Rod Graves won't be anywhere near consideration for replacement. Other players on the hot seat would have to be Antrel Rolle, McFadden (even though its his first year with cards), Deuce, Sendlein, every single TE, Graham, and others i can't think about at the moment :)

Well written article. I can't disagree with most of his nominations and could add a few.

Read the section on the cowsum. I've beaten the point to death that Jackass Jones may have overextended himself and put his organization in financial distress. Timing and greed hurt too.

Last night was the kickoff event at the stadium (George Strait) and from watching the news here last night people were quite pissed off. Ran out of food and beer, long lines, not enough parking and people waiting for up to an hour to buy food. Jones aka the:devil:, was even charging a minimum $40 to park depending how close you wanted. Ridiculous!!! I'm gonna laugh when some of their games get blacked out locally because of how much $$$ he is stealing from fans wallets. Couldn't happen to a nicer franchise. I have lived in Dallas my whole life and truely hate everything about them.

For me its Branch, Deuce, Francisco, Pope, and Levi Brown

To me, Rolle is as good as gone after this season. We drafted Rashad Johnson for a reason, and it wasnt to be on special teams his whole career. Rolle is going to cost way too much in escalators next season and I just don't see a scenario where he is kept around, unless he becomes the second coming of Kwame Lassiter.

Mike Nolan, Broncos defensive coordinator:
Early minicamp practices show he's going to attempt that hybrid look once again with the Broncos, as well.
 ...oh...:biglaugh:
It looks like Nolan hasn't learned his lesson.

Thank goodness this jerk is gone.

I hope Denver enjoys the Bigsub/Bignickel/wesuck defense.

I agree that Rolle is gone after this year, but it is going to be fun to watch him slide over to nickel corner against passing situations now that we have someone capable to fill in at FS in the form of Rashad Johnson. Rolle really is best suited at nickel corner and I think we are going to see him have some very nice returns after picks this year.

As for Denver, their team has been completely dismantled. I took a lot of ribbing from all the Denver "fans" down here in Tucson while I was growing up. I wonder if those jerks are still Denver "fans" 10/15 years later or if they have become Card "fans" now that Elway is a distant memory

Well,,, I do.

The escalators will trigger a new contract.

I think Deuce is at the very top of the list. Or at least I hope he is.

Like I mentioned, he has to play his brains out to stay on this team, so a new contract is far from guaranteed. Granted he improved at the FS position from the beginning of the season towards the playoffs, he needs to demonstrate that he can be consistent on coverage and tackling his man. He's not on my list because I feel he is "dead man walking" either way.

Further, if Rashad shows any sign of becoming something special, Rolle could be deemed expendable and we can save that money by letting him go. With the potential uncapped year next season and future uncertainty with the salary cap, expect the FO to be ultra conservative moving forward.

Players like Branch have an opportunity to live up to their potential to remain on this team, but if they continue to slouch, the axe will start grinding.
