Hey! Who Dat...

WELCOME! :)While I've been a DIE-HARD Cards' fan for 42+ yrs (Started at the tender-age of (10) there is ALWAYS a soft-spot in my heart for the teams that have NEVER tasted GLORY! So, IF the Cards should get knocked-out at some point rest-assurred I will be pulling for you & the good people of New Orleans to FINALLY experience it. We came soooooooooo close last year BUT I wouldn't trade the EXCITEMENT" of it all for ANYTHING!:) Some day, when I see my LORD I'll THANK Him for letting me live long enough to see my CARDS play in the Super Bowl. :) Course, now, WINNING, Ahhhhh...THAT would be "FOOTBALL-HEAVEN!" :D

As to your question: WHO's the BETTER team?? At this point, I would say your SAINTS. They came out of the starting-gate on-fire and I've yet to see them cool down. The Cards got off to a rough start and after game 1, Jimmy Johnson said on National TV, "Stick a fork in 'em". They're done". ...And that was the general opinion of people on the outside looking in. BUT, we knew that we were starting over with a "NEW" OC AND DC and knew there would be a "learning curve" that would take some time. THE NFL game is so FAST now-a-days, THAT if you're thinking too MUCH, the play is ALREADY OVER! The Cards are now starting to "gell". Starting to BELIEVE! ...And THAT makes us DANGEROUS! :)ALOT of football to be played. Anyways, WELCOME to the BOARD! ALOT of passionate Card fans' on here. :) Like YOU, we've been thru ALOT!

The Arizona Cardinals are the defending NFC Champions. That makes us the best team in the NFC. That doesn't change until we are dethroned. Who's playing well right now doesn't matter. Last year at this time, the Giants looked unbeatable. Talk to me in January.

Defending NFC champs is what we were LAST YEAR. This year we are arguably the 3rd best team in the NFC. Nothing wrong with that. We weren't the best team in the playoffs until we actually got there. Our defense is turning around. We should be in good position in the playoffs if we can get right at home.

The Eagles offense looked like crap tonight, IMO. That game should have been out of hand in the first quarter, but the offense -- outside of a couple of big plays -- couldn't do anything. I think The Cards take them to school if we played them right now.

1. Saints
2. Vikes
...(quite a drop here)
3. Cards

I really think the Vikes are closer to us than to the Saints. Farve makes plays sure, but he hasn't been all around great, just twice when they needed him to be. But if he is like Farve always has been, he is also going to have multiple games where he is outright bad and hurts the team and costs them games they should win (hopefully against us this happens).

Technically, we are defending NFC Champs this year. Last year we were NFC Champs. There is a difference, and it doesn't mean that we are necessarily the best team this season.

I would put us about 2 or 3 in the conference, however I think the AFC is far superior this year. I honestly can't forsee Indianapolis being challenged this year, save for New England. I think both of those teams would give us problems (one already has).

I am tentative about the Vikings game this year and would say that were are even with them behind the Saints in the NFC.

Should be a fun stretch run nevertheless.

undoubtably the aints look like they are the best team in the NFC right now. I think they would beat any NFC team at home or on the road at this point in time. but like tony romo said this week "you don't hand out championships in october":bang:

Too bad for Romo they don't. That would be his best chance of getting one...
that's why i made that post....

but if the cards can make the SB last year then......i'd keep my head up if I were a playoff caliber team. right now it just looks like the saints will beat any team when they are playing at this level.

The saints just lost Heath Evans for the full season on IR.Evans has a couple rings with the Patriots as a bad arse fullback out of Auburn and was doing awesome things for the saints in lead blocking and also pass recieveing so far this year.

He was almost the main key in the run blocking the saints have been able to use so far this year and I know how important a bigtime fullback is to a team.I saw the loss of the fullback for 14 years for the seahags in Mack as they won our division many years in a row and the first year without him we won it last year.

Its hard to find a bigtime fullback in this league. When you get one you hold on to them.I wish ours was better. He's kinda up and down and sometimes the running back in this case it was Beanie did'nt even follow him into the whole he was making.Kreider is kinda up and down and for sure we've seen by now this year he can't catch.

Its gonna be a big loss for the saints.

in Vegas this past weekend, btw thanks again for meeting up with me to watch the game Shane, they had the Cards at 10-1 to win the NFC and 25-1 to win the SB. I thought those were incredibly good odds so threw 150 on the NFC and 100 on the SB. Going from memory, teams that had better odds than the Cards were NO, NYG,PHI,MINN,ATL,CHI, and maybe Dallas.GB was right there as well with SF not too far behind. This was at Planet Hollywood. If i had to rank the NFC it would be:
1- The Cardinals-i wonder if people realize how good their defense is playing. The Giants, at home got a lucky bounce and a gift short field fumble and only put up 17. Beanie is only going to get better and the passing game is as good as anyone's.Last year's run only helps matters. This team is very legit.
2-MIN
3-NYG
4-NO
5-ATL
6-PHI
7-GB
8-CHI
9-DAL
10-16 all are bad

Shame the saints don't play anyone the rest of the way except twice falcons and one game against the Patriots that will show us what they are really about after losing their stud fullback this week on IR. The phins game was rediculous that Tedd Ginn JR. can't catch or they would have keep the saints from coming back to win.The phins have no way to play catchup once behind due to the lack of recievers.Ginn dropped two easy ones that would have led to scores and more other crazy things given to the saints for that comeback.

They'll probably get homefield advantage due to schedule and no doubt we'll have to beat the vikes and the saints again in the playoffs to make it to the superbowl.Unless someone upsets the saints in the playoffs.Which could easily happen as this season continues and they are figured out.

my rankings:
1. saints(no doubt right now)
2. minnesota(they look like a team that will have the air come out eventually with a few cracks)
3. all others....all the rest of the NFC teams have had some disturbing moments so far and it is too early to tell who is actually better than the other. the cardinals and my favorite team are among them. my guess is one of these teams will challenge the saints for the NFC title.

The fact that a Saints fan is on a Cards board asking this question makes me think he's not sure his team is better than ours.

I disagree with that notion. I am a cowboys fan. I didn't join this board because I am a troll, but because I lived in arizona for about 5 years after living in arlington for several years. and I came to this board about basketball first because the cards sucked at that time and the mavericks and suns had a good thing going. but since then i have found that the cardinals actually have a loyal fanbase on here and I respect most of you guys(in spite of all the cowboys hate).

I honestly feel you can get more of a realistic answer about the saints on this forum because most cards fans on here that take the glasses off will be honest and rank the saints 1. and in reality that's what you have here. I don't think the saints fan who started this thread feels that way at all. If he wanted to hear a bunch of great things about the saints he could have simply went to a saints forum. which is why I don't blog on a cowboys forum myself.

CBus is dead on correct!! The Cardinals are a team with a very scary upside. Once we start firing on all cylinders on the offensive side of the ball (and we will), we will be an extremely nasty matchup for ANYONE. I'm not sold on the Saints defense or their ability to keep their offense playing at the pace they are on. By week 12, they will max out & actually start regressing. Conversely, Whiz will pace this team & when the playoffs start - watch out. The only thing that can derail us is injuries, but that's the case with all teams. Whiz has built this team with the potential to go deep into the playoffs every year (Steeler mentality). The Saints will NOT be physical enough by year-end to be a factor. BTW, the Vikings are legit & they have a very underrated HC.

I absolutely love you as a poster PACardsfan but the vikes got lucky on the favre hail mary over the 9ers and the Ravens missed a chipshot field goal to lose to the vikes and last week the steelers did to them what they did to us in the SB.I'm not so sure the vikes without a TD return a game from the UF kid can keep winning everything. They play the giants near the last game of the season when the giants should have the most people back healthy by then.

Plus I don't know if that torn rotator cuff still holds out for 10+ more games for Brett.Even he said he did'nt know he could make a pass till he threw it the other day. He's winging it on a prayer.Jared Allen is the thing that makes that team go along with "ALL DAY".

The Vikings do have alot of talent and i think they are the toughest matchup. They have a stud CB in Winfield, Greenway looks like a very good LB, Allen would give us fits, the Williams boys are tough. But, you're right, if they ever have to go to Tavaris Jackson, their season is down the tubes. Even though they beat the Cards with him at QB last year, he's not a very good QB. I agree that they have been getting some breaks but they're still pretty good. That Adrian Peterson guy is pretty good to. I think it's good the Cards will have played probably the 2 best teams in the NFC(next to themselves) this year,in Minny and NYG, so they'll be familiar with them come playoff time.

I rank em in this order for the NFC:

  1. Saints
  2. Vikings
  3. Eagles
  4. Cardinals
  5. Cowpukes
  6. Falcons
  7. Giants
  8. Packers
  9. 49ers
  10. Bears
  11. Panthers
  12. Seahawks
  13. Redskins
  14. Lions
  15. Rams
  16. Bucs

Lets revist this come week 12, I'm sure it will change at least 5 more times. Teams are only as good as there last game.

The Saints are the better team right now but I like our defense and coach better as they have proven it before, and when it counted. O if we are declaring week 8 NFC champs they get it, but I think most would agree that the teams we see right now are not what we will get come January.

But if we are going to put the team that has the highest ceiling in the NFC in these rankings, its kind of hard to go against anyone other then Minny. They have the best oline, dline, and RB. They have playmakers in the secondary and LB corps and I like their WR's more then most. Plus they got old man Farve slinging it.

I think we would beat the Saints on a neutral field but I am not sure about Minny. I have nightmares about last seasons game and that was with Tavaris Jackson under center.

The cool thing is that game is about a month off and there is a good chance we will be playing better then them at that point if we take care of business against teams we should beat.

The Saints will get fat and cruise into the playoffs at like 12-4. But thats okay because they play in a dome and I could see some overconfidence seeping into that team. Going to New Orleans in the NFC championship isn't the worst thing for our teams chances, presently constructed.

The Vikings are VASTLY overrated. Their running game isn't nearly as good as it has been in past seasons, even with AD. Favre is crumbling under pressure when pressured. They have a ton of weapons, true, but they could very easily have a worse record than us right now.

I'd put the Saints at the top, and the Vikings and Cards on the next lower tier.
