Played OLB, CB, & Safety. To this day still considered by many the hardest hitter pound for pound to play in our era. at 5-8 , & 135. played HS ball with 3 people that played professionally. Adrain Cooper, TE. (OU) (PITT & MINN...Played for & loves Dennis Green), Mike Perez QB(San Jose State) Denver Broncos,& Galand Thaxton LB (Wyoming)San Diego Chargers, & Atlanta Falcons. Still good friends with all. Broke left arm so severely, bone specialist recommended I never played football again  focused my attention to basketball grew to 6-1 165. Played college basketball at Langton University. After college moved back to Denver, 6-1 215 & currently managing a youth Organization & coachng football & Basketball. Several city & state championships won with my kids. Pencil me in at corner

I was a stand out WR that ran a 4.2 40 until I dislocated my ankle and tore ligments, no college wanted me after that.

I was a starting FB and MLB all through high school. I love the hitting and I blocked for some really good backs. Tried walking on D1AA but walked away from it before final cuts...basically I was "camp fodder".

Now I could be Ted Washington...well maybe not that big but I am striving for it 12 ounces at a time :D

I didn't play football in HS just basketball and track, I of course played football for years as a kid typically WR/DB. That is one of my regrets, at the time it made no sense to me to go play football when the team ran 80% of the time and I was going to be a WR/DB, but if I had it to do over again I'd have definitely played at least frosh/soph.

I tell young kids that sort of stuff all the time now, try everything you can in school, stick with what you like, drop what you don't, no regrets later.

we need to get conraddobler, jetstream green, and savage58 on this team.

Monsters I tell ya, they played like monsters.

:ais:

hopefully Q will post something here someday. Then we could all sit on the sideline and watch him stomp their boards single handedly.

He'd play for pink slips. then Skkorp would own their sites too and change them into Caly Aiken and Bobby Milford fan sites. That would rule!

I ran a 4.4 once - but my 10 yard dash time shouldn't be anyone's business but my own.

Played OT and defensive end. 6'1", 270 lbs. 5 knee surgeries later ( including the dreaded Steadman micro fracture this past December). I really understand why Swan never came back now. I could be the Coach.:D

Played RB in Pop Warner single-wing offense.

Played freshman football - OG and DE despite weighing 130 lbs.

Lacking the necessary heft (and since steroids were a non-factor back then) I switched to Cross Country the following year.

Dude, have you not learned anything in following the Cards? Good gawd man, you are masochistic - Card fan who had Steadman cut open the knee.

YOU ARE AWESOME! :notworthy

Actually, it was down to a choice of 2 total knee replacements or Steadman. Really not much of a choice.

My parents said I was to small to play football :( I still am mad at them to this day about that. I could have been a star.... Did play basketball even got to the college level at MCC (OK High School Level), but before season started injured my knee and opted to not go under the knife to extend my career. :)

I always wanted to play HB .... Curently..

I was on the team and played End Tackle. I'd sit on the end of the bench and if anybody tried to get a drink of water I would tackle them. ( Only played Football as a Freshman but I played Soccer for 11 yrs).

Although I ado not play football in any leagues of HS, I still play some football.

I usually play safety (I'm not that fast, but I can jump the ball or route and read the QB to get the INT or the deflection - I get lots of INT's) on defense.

I play WR on offense (As I am not that fast but I can be quick and break tackles)

I play hard and leave everything on the field. Can I be on the ASFN team?

If I can be on the team, can we play the Cowboys board first?

That would be scary. There's so many of them. Our strategy would have to be score first. Then they would all try to jump to our side or just quit.

I played up until HS when a combination of two knee surgeries and job/car, limited me and took up all of my time.

I played both OT positions then, but now I'de probably be a 3rd string OLB and special teamer.

Played TE and DE lined up over the LT (Guess that made me a pass rusher :) )

That was long ago.

DOH, I've been found out! ;)

My Al Bundy MOMENT!

I played at Mesa High, had 2 awesome Sr. ILBs at the time, and I was a bit light as a Jr. and didn't like my minimal playing time, so I played on the Jr. team , killed Mtn View twice that year, getting 6 sacks, in "each" game, only 1 shy of Derrick Thomas' NFL sack record, to dream! :) Was called up after the Jr. teams season was over, we rolled through the playoffs, didn't start, but played alot more, beating up on Mario Bates and his friends at SDS for the state title, boo yeah! Senior year I started, lead the defense, we were the best Defense in the state easily, had a great year. Best memory of that season, was destroying Terry Fair who played QB for South Mountain HS, I always throw that one in when I'm going Al Bundy style, that was the hit of the year around campus. Lost to St. Mary's 7-0, in the playoffs, I'm still not over it, how sad haha.

Was recruited by all the JCs around the area, MCC, Scottsdale, Eastern/Western, Dixie , along with New Mexico State, dang maybe I could've played with Urlacher ;) Went to MCC with friends, but lost interest quickly, at the time there were alot of bad things going around that program(no comment) started workin in the area, moved to California and went to play College Ball in the Bay Area. I played with a few great players there, 1 went to San Diego state, awesome LB, DE went to USC, another to Washington State, I'm sure there were others, I should've kept in touch more. My baby bro took over for me there, then went onto Arizona State, played the bench behind some guy who is doing pretty damn good in the NFL right now. So I'm proud of what he accomplished as well.

After playing a year, found my sweetheart, and gave up the game, even though I was offered scholarships from Hawaii, North Carolina, Arkansas, Brown University(everyone got an offer from them I think) and a few others.

I was 6'2" , 235, ran a 4.6 , bench was 350, squat 550 not great, but I can admit I was a cerebral player, more than athletically gifted.

AL has spoken, heh. BTW if you played with me or against me, let me know, we can talk about the old times or you can tell me how much of a dirty player I was back then, haha.

Played FB all 3 years in High school and was back up DT.

We ran an option type attack but I had a few carries here and there and once busted a 30+ yard fullback option give play for a TD.

Never got recruited by anyone other than a local Division II school and I probably wouldnt had lasted very long had I accepted

:p

one time at band camp ...just kidding...but -

we always got games going in my parents front yard growing up...i was usually the only girl around...we played tackle fox and geese too.

one time in gradeschool during gym class i caught a pass and ran for a touchdown and all of the boys quit calling me 'fat greasy pimple' - kids can be so mean!

and in high school we had a powder puff game...jr. girls vs. sr. girls...the next year they cancelled it because there were too many fights. i even walked away with torn ligamnets in my left ankle - so i actually have an old football injury that i can refer to.

ok...so, no - i never played for real!
but that was fun sharing anyway!

pop warner championship team in bantam division in '82 (i think) - Chargers! played with stan kwan (cards' old quality control coach). started at guard.

played soph-senior years in high school. offensive tackle and defensive end. captain of the team senior year, first team all-conference, and second team all-state. got to play with the best secondary in the state (kevin minifield, derrick mason, boobie glenn, and brett ________ - they set a record for INTS in a season). minifield went on to play for ASU and the lions, bears, and almost the cards. played against sparks, galbreath, kevin scott, preston lambert, nathan laduke (we each had a crushing hit on one and other during our three seasons playing against one and other), etc.

played my freshman and sophomore years in college (Tuft University). started at middle linebacker. both years were cut short by injuries. eventually the knee reconstruction was the final blow.

continued to play intramurals where i won a championship in college playing linebacker (undefeated season), won a championship in law school (undefeated season playing defensive end where i lead the league in sacks with 17 in 10 games - yes, our league kept stats - hilarious), and a championship with my bro's law school team @ asu (undefeated).

still love to play when i can. i work with a lot of youngin's (20's) and they've organized a few games over the past three years. they're always so shocked at my ability to sometimes dominate the game at a broken down 35 years of age. 5 tds (there's my al bundy moment) in one of our games sent the teams into hysterics when one of the guy's 8 year old son asked his dad, "dad, why do you keep letting that guy score on you?" granted the talent level ain't much to look at, but at least i'm still on the top of the heap . . .

Wow! Some of you guys played against some pretty good competition, future nfl'ers, etc.
I went to a Credence Clearwater Revival concert once and ended up at a local bar after the concert when CCR showed up and sat at the adjacent table. Got to talking after a few drinks, and it turned out that I had played against John Fogerty when he played for a small JC in SoCal and I was playing for Camp Pendleton and the USMC.
They later got up and took the instruments from the house band and played until 2 AM.
