Josh sucks, King looked terrible, but

Josh sucks. The only thing he does well is protect the ball. That skill alone has let our defense win some games. With our d giving up as many points as quickly as it did today, we weren't going to win with Josh in there.

King moves this offense. 300 yards of offense beats the hell out of 100. The turn overs are a disaster.

Neither QB is the answer. Neither QB gets this team to the play offs. King gives us the chance to push our WRs and get them some balls. If I believed Navarre would be the answer, I'd petition for him. Hell, he'll probably get a start at the end of the year.

I expect that the Cardinals hold a lot of this team together for next year, but I can't believe that neither Josh nor King are back next year. If Denny believes King is the man for next week, I agree. Hell, I'm sick and tired of seeing a QB with 6 TDs in 9 games start. We should just cut both of them and start Q at QB next week.

I'd start King if I was Denny, at least this way we can see if our back up QB is worth keeping. I know Josh isn't worth keeping.

A new QB who lives with this offense and dosen't throw pics to me is a QB who hasn't figured out how to exploit defenses yet or in time but at least knows enough that our guys are the ones who generally should be the target.

That's not usual for new QB's most throw more TD's and a Ton more pics. I just don't see this horrible facination with benching a guy who has a two game winning streak.

The game today didn't do anything to shake my belief that on this team right now Josh should be starting.

Green is now caught between a rock and a hard place and better hope King bails him out.

They both are NOT NFL starting QB's. Where are all you jacka$$es that were so tickled with our victory against the Vikings last year. Oh well, that's water over the dam now. I say we give King another start. I personally think that DG has now come to grips with the reality that our QB of the future is NOT ON THIS TEAM. If King stinks up the joint, then play McCown the remainder of the year.

I'm not entirely sure that he didn't come to that conclusion before the draft. Personally he's in love with Fitz.

Fitz is going to be good but I think he was going to draft Fitz no matter what and talking up Josh was a convienient way of making that happen.

I think the poll should be added to put another passer in there . . .

Steve Nash - hell I'd rather see him in there than anyone else. ALL OF OUR QB'S SUCK - PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

We have one guy who doesn't turn the ball over, but doesn't throw the ball at all. We have another guy who pushes the ball down field and today was a turnover machine - if we could take the best of both of them and put it together we'd have something - but we don't.

I still think we win next week - been saying we'll get a split of the this game and the Jets game and I still expect that to happen but anyone who thinks that there is an answer to the QB situation currently on the team is crazier than Ron Artest.

You are absolutely correct. DG was going to draft Fitz even with the 1st pick.

I hope we do win, I'll even root for King now, although it's hard to but I just tell myself it isn't King who gave me all the anti Josh crap and I'm fine with it during the game. It's afterward when the excuses come for King that weren't given to Josh that I get mad.

Truthfully you are right we have no starting QB on the roster. Arguing over who is the best of a bunch of steaming piles of dung becomes silly.

DG had to have Fitz and this is the cost. No FA QB because there weren't any to speak of, no trade for a QB because you can't do that if you have a high pick that's stupid you just draft one but aha that means no Fitz.

We got jobbed.

Josh winning the last game did hurt but not in the way everyone thought. All that did was give DG more of an excuse to draft Fitz. He was going to anyway he just got away with it easier.

Well, lets just see what King's QB rating was for today. I bet its somewhere around 55 - 60.

Josh has been up around 75 - 80 all year.

Thats a HUGE difference.

Josh AT LEAST gave us a chance to win games. AND, in the Miami game, he drove his team down the field, and WON the game.

He only had 90 yards passing against the giants because we tried to run out the clock after we got the lead!

I can't understand how anyone would want King to go back out there after that debacle today.

Josh is NOT playing that bad people! Come on!!!!

I gotta go with Josh. Can't argue that he, at least, isn't a "turnover machine King" like we saw today. Too early to even think about Navarre IMO.

Conrad - I agree with almost everything you've said in the above except something struck me AS REALLY odd - the whole "it's going to be difficult rooting for King" - what exactly does that mean? I mean I was rooting for Josh to do well in games - but I would get furious but I continually WANTED to see him do well - not because I liked Josh - but because it would mean WE WOULD BE PLAYING WELL. That sentencejust struck me as real odd.

The Fitz pick was a mistake - shouldn have been Rothlesberger - but hey -we're the Cardinals - at least the guy we DID pick looks like he'll actually be a player, rather than some pathetic combo of BJ/Pace (instead of Lefty) or Thomas Jones or Big or any other high draft pick we've wasted.

And you know what the BEST thing about this game is? It should shut This_Guy up for a while. Watch his posts, read them and then when he starts making excuses, I'd suggest some of the Josh guys look back over their own stuff to see striking similarities.

THERE IS NO NFL QB ON THIS TEAM GUYS - it will be addressed next offseason, along with Running back - relax - it's juts one stinker of a game. Like Skkorp says, there's one or two of these from EVERY TEAM all year.

And for Spanky - who's telling people to get lost - once again - we see the ugliness of this baord. Even the people that bashed Josh never told other Cardinal fans to take ahike. They may have ripped the guy's play on the field and vehemently disagreed with others football takes, but they never made it personal to that extent. I mean Spankly - should we tell you to get lost considering that assinine statement that we could afford to rest our key defensive guys so Mac's guys could back on the field because even with a banged up club, we should be able to beat the NFC Champs?

Give me a break.

I agree with you on this, especially that between Josh and King we could craft a pretty good quarterback. Josh's arm, age, king's ability to read a defense and aggressive way to drive the team, josh's lack of turnovers, King's earrings, Josh's drawl.

Both QB's suck. Players don't get benched for the drek we saw out there today if they are getting the job done.

My call - Josh will be a third stringer on someone's team next and King will be another journey back up somewhere else. Neither of these guys are NFL QB's.

I disagree.

When you have a guy with a baker's dozen starts under his belt, with a YTD QB rating of 75 and a 4-5 record, you go with it. He's doing as well as can be expected.

Especially when your alternative is King.

I'm waiting for This_Guy to chime in - come on man - I know you're on this thread.

As far as giving DG another sstart to King - once again - I'm behind him 100%, just as I was with continuing to start Josh.

Sheesh - you guys act as if Josh had nothing to do with us losing 38-14 earlier in the season. This whole team stunk today - just like that in that game and make no doubt about it - KING WAS HORRIBLE - but, I'll give Denny the benefit of the doubt here, just like before.

Cheese spare me the moral lecture on how I feel.

I don't like King as a QB, didn't like the Josh bashing and King man love at his expense but don't blame King for it or wish him to fail.

I explained that in my post it comes in after the game I held my magic football all game just like always and as in so many times before it failed. It only has so much power.

But don't lecture me on how or who I root for.

I was rooting for awful QB's to pull out miracles before you were born.

Since THis_Guy hasn't shown up yet I'll do it. King deserves another start to see what he can do when his team isn't called for 11 penalties for 100 yards in one stinking half. Also Carolina has a very good secondary, their pass defense was ranked 9th coming into this game. And the fumbles were not his fault it was the Cardinals continued inability to pick up the blitz. Just like it has been all year.

King's poor results in the second half were a direct result of the Panthers being up by 28 and playing all pass. King made several throws in the first half that McCown would never have made. And finally at least King can throw the darn ball to the first down marker.

Neither one of them is any good but right now I say King gives them the best chance to win. Those who think that the Cards were going to continue to win simply because Josh didn't turn the ball over are dreaming. Our defense is not that good. I'll take the aggressive gunslinger over the cautious accountant anyday.

How was that? :D

BTW: that Intentional Grounding call has to be the worst call I've seen in 40+ years of watching Cardinal football.

This is what seems to be lost in today's debacle is that we have the worst crop of QBs in the NFL. We've seen what little King and McCown have to offer and Navarre was bad in college so I doubt the light will turn on for him in the pros. But which do you think we should go, Cheese? Draft someone or pick up a vet either in a trade or FA?

Wow. Should I be honored you are so anxious to hear from me?

I'm not going to try convince you that King played well today. He was clearly not on the same page as the WRs and you obviously can't turn the ball over multiple times either, but you have all gone off the deep end. This was an entire team meltdown. King turned the ball over, but the list of people to blame is long.

King only fumbled 8 times in his career before today, so 5 today was certainly out of character. Short of the turnovers, its easy to see that the passing offense will click under King, and why he will start next week. Despite all the plays where King and the WRs missed their reads, the Cardinals still did have 343 yards passing. If Boldin's TD isn't called back, it's alot more. King had a number or poor plays, but he had a number of very good plays too. And they were very close to a couple more big plays. Carolina's defense deserved some credit too.

I wouldn't give up on McCown but I guess DG has? I guess it will work out. Hey, Maybe we'll draft Jason White.

Theres a pleasant thought.

cheese,

For posting my opinions that are contrary to yours......I apologize. Now, if you really think that the Carolina Panthers are deserving of the " title" of NFC Champs, given their record this year, then I suspect that you also feel that OJ Simpson was innocent.

As to "resting" our banged up players (Berry; Dockett; Dansby and Smith), what will you say when analysing the performance of same.....only to find out that Berry left the game in the 3rd quarter and might miss the next game......or that once again, Smith looked like an old man when other RB's seemed to have a little burst (Scobey, in particular).

If we had of rested them, given the outcome of their performance, we might have had a better chance of being in top fiddle next week.......cuz, if Green is hell bent in starting King again, we'll need them!
