Been thinking about all the projections for the Suns win totals next year. If the Suns end up finishing as low as predicted and end up with the 1st or 2nd pick after the lottery AND end up drafting Shabazz Muhammad, obviously they won't be offering Harden a max contract if he's available. Who and what position should the Suns look for in free agency? Is there anyone else who is going to get a max offer?

I could see Josh Smith (Atl), but not at the max. I don't see any way the Suns draft Shabazz since I don't think he will be coming out next year.

Please stop the Josh Smith romance. Some people (not sure who) has talked a lot about getting him. I don't want that dude in Phoenix. Getting the 1st or 2nd pick would be thrilling though.

As I view it, if the Suns are bad enough to likely end up with the first or second pick they should forget about signing a max player next season and continue with the youth movement for at least another season to get another good draft pick. After that, then think about signing a max player to hopefully add to a couple young stars on the rise.
