Towns and Jokic are the only 2 guys I'm certain I'd move him for (and I'd take Jokic over Towns). There are a number of others I'd have to think about, like LeBron can carry any team through 2 or 3 rounds, but is a couple years of contending with LeBron worth Booker's entire career? Really hard to say.

Not bad for a player drafted #41 in the second round.

He's untradable because the players I'd trade him for would never be traded either.

The only two players I'd trade him for are KAT and Anthony Davis. I think I'd say no to the Greek Freak but would consider it. Age plays a huge role, if Booker was 24 then that would open up other players like Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Curry, etc who are all in their late 20's and peaking.

Defense wise, I don't think he will ever be as good as Klay Thompson who is often his comparison.
Neither was MVSteve. I'm beginning to like the idea of DBook running the Point permanently -- a 6'6" scoring, clutch Point Guard, average on defense -- as we aim for the post-season next season. Even at age 20, and the giants steps he's taken this season, he has more skills than anyone else on the team to play alongside a good starting 2-Guard. Especially now that we've seen that Bledsoe is not the defensive gem we expected.

For those of you who don't want to see Bledsoe traded, let him compete for 2-Guard next season. I'd feel more comfortable with Booker deciding to feed Bledsoe than vice versa.

Although I still believe it would be best to trade Bled based on his stats this season and that he was benched for "tanking" purposes. By next training camp, he's back to being our starting Point Guard and anything else would lower his value.

I'd take The Freak over AD given age, contract and durability.

I don't mind Booker playing with the ball more, as the primary offensive player like Joe Johnson was years ago for Phoenix in the year before Nash returned or how he played in Atlanta. There are a number of SG's who have been the primary ball handler and playmaker for their team in the last few years like Ray Allen, Dwayne Wade, or Kobe and I think Booker can follow down that path. We should try to get a knockdown shooter to play alongside him in the backcourt who is also a good facilitator. We don't need to move Booker to PG though, I don't like the idea of pushing him to SF but that makes more sense than moving Booker to PG full time. He's definitely the sort of player who you want to maximize his talent and to do that I think you need to let him play a consistent role throughout every game and moving him to starting PG or even backup PG isn't the right way to maximize his talents.

It'd be easier to bring in another PG whose skills compliment Booker than it would be to find a SG that is good enough to push Booker out of position. Bledsoe deferred to Booker a lot on offense before and I think he would even more if that's what was asked of him but I think it'd be better to trade him for another young player, sell while his value is high, and bring someone in that is closer in age to Booker so we can build a team that compete for years to come instead of trying to retool every couple of years around Booker.

The NBA is morphing into different types of roles.

Position-less basketball is the future. We have to bring in another player who complements Booker's skills and makes up for his weaknesses. So,

1. Defensive, especially effective against small quick guards.
2. Distributor first. Booker should not be asked to be a pass-first guard.
3. Efficient shooter. Booker is his own shot-creator. Having a player that can be an effective target when the defense collapses on Booker would really help.

Actually, in many ways Ulis fills that bill. Ball could. Bledsoe is actually not bad except for #2.

Interesting story here. Looks like the Magic took a pub photo but forgot to erase their trade and FA targets from the white board behind (Warren is on their list). The fascinating thing is the position designations, which I would guess are commonly being used in the league. The two they list are "Hybrids" which is probably the same as wing, and "spread big" which is what normally we would call stretch 4 or stretch 5. I am concluding there are about 4 ideas of position. Guard, Hybrid, Spread big, Big.
