Who will be easier to catch - SF or Atlanta?

Who do the Dbacks have a better chance of catching?

Beltran certainly can't hurt that lineup. I just can't believe they gave up Wheeler to get him. I guess it's probably the right thing because it's do-or-die time for what's otherwise a very strong Giants roster.

It gives the Giants a power bat in the middle of the batting order.

The prospect of a major trade is why I didn't vote in this thread. It was premature before the trading deadline. Now, it sure tilts it . . . unless the Braves pull one off, too.
Gives the a giants a what bat?
Im sorry i haven't heard of a "power bat" since barry bonds was this team.;)

Beltran is doing wonders for the giants offense as of to date....what is he like 1 for 30 since joining the giants. :bang::(

Even if the Giants stabilize and go on a little run it's nice to see that the Dbacks are only 1.5 behind the Braves. Should be a fun final 50 games or so.

1.5 back from Atlanta

We're most likely going to have to deal with the Brewers and/or Cardinals as well - if we don't win our division. Gonna be a great few month of baseball here in the desert!!!! ;)

I think both teams have about an equally difficult road ahead of them. Maybe Atlanta has a slightly harder road because they still have the Phillies for 6 more games that could easily derail their wildcard dreams.

As I mentioned, I would not rule out the Brewers and/or Cardinals... I think each of those teams has an equal, if not greater chance of beating out the Braves in this race. So, if we don't win our division, it might well come down to a tussle with one of those 2 teams vs the Braves...

No worries. Their remaining schedules are damn near mirror images of each other, so I think this race will come down to the head-to-head series between the two. If one team dominates the other, it might help our wildcard chances as well.

The D-backs, BY FAR, have the easiest schedule and a great chance to make a serious move!
