Beltran certainly can't hurt that lineup. I just can't believe they gave up Wheeler to get him. I guess it's probably the right thing because it's do-or-die time for what's otherwise a very strong Giants roster.
Gives the a giants a what bat?It gives the Giants a power bat in the middle of the batting order.
The prospect of a major trade is why I didn't vote in this thread. It was premature before the trading deadline. Now, it sure tilts it . . . unless the Braves pull one off, too.
Caught the Giants!!
1.5 back from Atlanta
Even if the Giants stabilize and go on a little run it's nice to see that the Dbacks are only 1.5 behind the Braves. Should be a fun final 50 games or so.

I think both teams have about an equally difficult road ahead of them. Maybe Atlanta has a slightly harder road because they still have the Phillies for 6 more games that could easily derail their wildcard dreams.
As I mentioned, I would rule out the Brewers and/or Cardinals... I think each of those teams has an equal, if not greater chance of beating out the Braves in this race. So, if we don't win our division, it might well come down to a tussle with one of those 2 teams vs the Braves...
