It's a business decision but in todays "climate" drafting someone like Joe Mixon is just asking for bad karma. As a UCLA basketball fan I just didn't buy at all that Steve Alford was getting the IU job and the entire reason why was the Pierre Pierce story from like 15 years ago at Iowa. If you have that in your closet right now you're simply not going to get a bigtime job, people will complain and they'll pick someone else.

with Mixon what NFL team is going to want to have womens groups picketing their camp if they draft Mixon? It will be bad enough if they sign him as a UDFA but if they draft him, they're going to get destroyed. Maybe they don't care, but anybody that drafts him knows that's going to happen.

So the same board that wanted to "bury Floyd under the prison" for driving drunk wants to draft this douchebag? Not surprising. Liberalism at its finest. I say no. Let this scumbag pollute someone else's locker room.

Keep the politics out of the posts here. You have been given a lot of rope on this but you are reaching the end.

Nothings gonna happen. People move on. Remember when Ben raped a girl in the bathroom? Its still talked about, but mostly jokingly. Guys get DUIs everyday, a crime that kills more people than gun violence, but people seemingly think its no big deal.

Mixon getting drafted will be news for a week tops, and then for another week when he's named starter, and then pretty much never again.

Ben was already on the team and a star, there was enough financial incentive to keep him for Pittsburgh to take the heat for doing so. Not sure that's the case with Mixon. I saw something last week where someone was saying Mixon was a first round talent based on workouts but "I remain skeptical anybody is going to touch him before round 3, and maybe not at all until after the draft."

Someone will wind up with him on their roster, he'll play in the NFL, but it's not going to be painless for them so the less invested they were in getting him the easier it will be for them.

At most "the pain" will be 11 days of somebody saying "shame on you" and then 16 games worth of winning because scumbag or not, he is a superstar.

There is no pain. I say Mixon is drafted in the 2nd

Superstar no but very talented RB, big strong and fast and good out of the backfield. Again he'll play in the NFL, he's too good not to, but he's going to have to deal with what he did, it will cost him lots of money on his first contract and he'll be watched like a hawk.

My bet is NE or SEA take him because both coaches are completely win at all cost who cares what guys did.

Would you draft Greg Hardy if you knew he beat the hell out of women continually? How about Dweed again if he had 4 failed drug tests? How about Randy Gregory whom admitted he loved smoking weed? Would Aldon Smith be on your draft board with all his DUIs & other issues?

Come on guys, this guy is pure ******* trouble!!! When a guy hits a woman like he did, the guy should be wearing an orange jumpsuit not an NFL football uniform!!! :mulli:

He's not even on my board in the old draft when there were 27 rounds

I think people should be allowed to smoke all the weed they want as long as they don't hop in the car after doing it, and besides being stupid enough to get caught and suspended, wouldn't have a problem with it. It's legal where I live, and if the NFL accepted it, smoke away. Hell, I know plenty of NFL players personally that smoke a ton, they just haven't gotten caught. Doesn't make me flinch.

When it comes to Mixon and "woman beating," I admittedly struggle with situations where a woman puts hands on a man first. Yes, women are the "weaker" sex, and no, I don't condone hitting women, but if someone's attacking you, it's your reaction to defend yourself. It's not like Mixon came home to his girlfriend who didn't have dinner on the table and broke her jaw for it, someone came at him and instigated a fight, and he used a disproportionate amount of force. But let's be honest, if Mixon hit me in the face, he'd probably break my jaw too, and I'm a 30 year old man.

He has hopefully learned a lesson about getting into an altercation with anyone, not just a woman, and won't do this again.

New England removed Mixon from their draft board.

This would have to be an ownership approved selection and I just don't see that happening.

No way any GM would make this pick without complete buy in from the boss.

No way Mikey B approves that...especially being head of Player Conduct. Besides...Mixon should be in jail...
