That the Raider game would be such a critical game for this team?? Truth is, win or lose, it's only week 3. However, during his reign here in AZ, Whiz has shown an incredible ability to somehow bring the team back after getting crushed the week before. Or - was this merely Kurt Warner playing Superman??
We stand to learn a ton this coming Sunday... Exactly what makes this team tick? How great of a leader is Whiz? Does this team still possess enough cajones to get up off the mat and win the next week against an inferior team? Is DA capable of leading this team to sustained success? Do we have players on this team that are true, effective and respected leaders - yes, that means YOU Darnell, A-Dub, Fitz, Haggans, Calais, DRC???

These and many more questions will be put to the test this Sunday. Again, what appeared to be a meaningless, sure-win on the schedule is now an immensely crucial test for the Cards...

I think anyone who has a rational football mind would have realized that the game was going to be critical, and that we would be 1-1 going into it.

First of all, it's not critical at all, there are no critical games unless you are a contender, we are not so every game is relatively the same in that we should try and win it but as far as crucial to anything, it's not.

It's also not likely to tell us much of anything, beating the Raiders is pretty much expected especially since we're at home.

This team is completely different without Warner, everyone on it now has to picture hoisting the Lombardi with DA, instead of Warner.

Do you really think they do that?

I don't.

82, Because of the DRUBBING we took those are the questions I have. Had we played a better game, but lost by a closer margin, I'd have anticipated questions about DA's abilities. And about Whiz's decisions re: DA. I didn't think I'd be asking myself if Darnell and the others could be "true, effective and respected leaders". I didn't think I'd HAVE to. I've got those questions and a whole lot more about what kind of a UNIT they are going to be next Sunday.

The eternal optomist in me thinks they will be able to shake it off, learn some lessons and be a better team because of that pitiful performance yesteray. If not, it's going to be a very long season.

WOW! THATS A HOT TOWEL TO THE FACE!!!All true though.Kurt has said over and over he just did'nt feel like putting in the time it took to play at that high of a level.Too much pressure and stress even more than the hits is what wore him out plus the strongest desire of ALL to be with his 7 kids while they were young.Kurt said yesterday if he had wanted to he could have played 2 more years.Yet when he signed his final contract he told them he may retire and due to that the contract was split. To Kurts bigger loss in $$$ and due to his honesty.

DA has no clue about how to even come close to that level of play we are used to seeing week after week. Not sure we have a qb on the team with the ability. Not a big Chris Miller fan during his career(sorry) and having him as our QB developer beyond what Whiz see's and does.Does'nt even bode well if Ryan Mallett was just given to us to develope as our QBOF.

Whiz still chose to blame recievers routes not helping DA and proper blocking for him. This may be a very long ride.Whiz' pride is on the line.

Sucks that it is about Whiz's pride instead of wins and losses but that is exactly what it is about.

That's strange because I heard Whiz's post-game comments with Calvisi where he specifically called out "missing open receivers" - among a number of other issues...

I did as well, but the Whiz haters will use any fodder to prove their point.

And for the record, I dont think this is a critical game. If the Cards lay a stinker then I would be worried, but if they win big (at home after a big loss) it doesnt really mean that much.

Critical games will come when this team is .500 and playing the Seahawks or Niners.

Ditto Dems...

Apparently, Porter went off on the team - Twice. Once in the 3rd quarter of the game, and then after the game when he heard players singing in laughing in the showers.
Not sure if any other "leaders" took it upon themselves to step up and call out those who were involved, but man... a first year player reaming the team?? I can only hope that guys like Dockett, Wilson, Fitz, Deuce, Sendlein, DRC, Breaston, Levi, Campbell, Haggans were not part of the group that Porter went after... it would be nice to know that these guys actually mirrored Joey's passion and attempt to lead. :bang:

I believe that those games against the Hawks and 9ers won't be so critical should we go and lay another stinker this Sunday. Should that happen, we will know exactly what this team is made of and it would be a miracle if we are .500 by the time we play the Hawks and 9ers...

Good for Porter!! Last season Fitz got all over Beanie for wearing a do rag (or whatever they're called now) during a TV interview. We can only hope he, and the guys you have mentioned, called out anyone yucking it up after the game. I hate to even hear that.

I'd have loved to have seen a shot of him chewing them out during the game. (Missed it if they did show it. Hated the coverage. Sorry, but I DO NOT CARE who your brother-in law is!)

Brian Billick and Mike Smith are brothers-in law. It was mentioned at least seven times (I was keeping track) in about 15 minutes. My interest in this fascinating little tidbit tanked after the third mention.

(Granted we were getting pounded at this point in the game and my disposition left a lot to be desired.)

The Morning After article from Kent Somers.Has some real eye openers to me.
http://bit.ly/cigOct I have the post that says exactly what I said as I goy it straight from Somers who made the trip with the team and is wondering now how Davis still has a job and Whis said exactly what I said he said as Somers has been repeating it all day long off his portable tape recorder.

Whiz blamed the blocking and recievers routes and "some" missed throws is how Somers wrote it.I'll get you the post.

I'm not a Whiz hater at all.Thats just crazy talk.He gets a free ride from me, but even Whiz says he can't yet judge this team from practice field to game field yet.

Beanie still wonders when he'll get to play yet.Thought he would last week. All Somers info.Follow the guy on twitter and see what he really says and feels about this team.

He as of now predicts Hall starts at least 4 games as of Sunday.

Doug, I do follow Somers and I like his style. You attempted to create a position that Whiz entirely obsolved DA from any poor play. You were wrong. That's all...

Whiz did'nt come down very haqrd at all as somers statements were all I was repeating word for word.I missed the interview you referenced.I still don't know if he's trying to protect DA's mental state if the kid is fragile because play like that did not deserve even the one report he gave to Somers.

I was'nt trying to do anything but repeat what Somers says as I can bring his tweets here to back up what I posted.I was'nt and don't have any agenda one way or the other.I've defended Ken for years as a Very positive poster as well you should know.

I don't have access to many interviews a Arizona person will have access too without the radio or local tv stations that would cover the team.Forgive me for missing the interview you caught okay?No agenda here ever.

:yeahthat: If the Cardinals win it's no more than expected. A loss  would be quite disheartening...
