Last 7 days:

Hot:
Gerardo Parra - batting .500
Cody Ross, Jason Kubel, Cliff Pennington, Miguel Montero - all hitting over .346

Not Hot:
AJ Pollock, Martin Prado, Paul Goldschmidt - hitting below .200, with Goldy at .138
Home Runs - only two in last seven games (although that could be a good thing)

Not;
Ian Kennedy and David Hernandez. Kennedy showed something against philly and ATL, but back to his ways the other night against LA.

Really encouraging to see that Montero is improving. Very unlike him to be camping under the Mendoza line.

America's First Baseman

Here is an article about how some of the D'backs have dubbed Paul Goldschmidt, "America's First Baseman", with T-shirts and all. Goldy, of course, doesn't relish the attention.

I am surprised his slump is continuing. With his short swing and ability to hit to all fields, you'd think he would have licked it by now.

P.S.: Didi better stop trying to pull everything if he wants to be as good as he can.

Goldy only has one walk in 27 ABs during that span. That tells the story, IMO. He just ain't seein' it. Might be trying to do too much.

When he's drawing walks, that's when his other ABs are productive.
