I haven't played in years since I have two bad knees and put on about 120 lbs. But when I was younger I tried to play the game exactly like Hornacek did -- dribble with both hands, play shooting guard like a point guard, play defense with the feet and angles.

I'm sure I looked more like a short Casey Jacobsen.

Since this thread really has nothing to do with the Suns, I'll jump in. I've been reading everything carefully, by the way, and would love to post on the Marion rumors. But most of my points have already been made by others, so don't worry, no one's missing anything. :p

Horace Grant for me. Decent shot from the elbows or a step inside the top of the key, pretty good defender, a bit of a rebounding knack, and no flash at all. Of course, that was back when I played. Now I focus on racquetball, which is easier on my ankles.

You can't stay away. One day soon you will have to make a decision, either you post or you totally loose control of all bodily functions.

I found the picture below while cleaning out my desk and it seemed appropriate to this topic (it's from 1991). That and two other times are the only occasions when I have been on a real team. There was at least one girl on the team. I remember being the best player on the team (so at that time I'd say I was Larry Bird), however we were 1-7 because there was only one other decent kid on the team.

Thats funny, sounds like every team I was ever on growing up. Always the best player on horrible teams.

I would say Nash. I've got a decent drive and can shoot left or right inside the paint and hit the three. No one I play with watches the Suns, so I can do Nash's scoop shot he does off the glass all day.

I have an occasional good pass, and not the best defense.

As far as stability, i'm like Grant Hill. Old snowboarding injuries have worn out the knees and ankles.

In my mind, Kevin McHale. A variety of moves around the hoop and I can step out and face up. Not very good lateral quickness but a decent defender.

For about 2 min anyway untill I run out of gas. Then I resemble something more like a tree, a thin unathletic tree.

Ben Wallace/Dennis Rodman (without the "flair")

I have almost ZERO offensive game (working on it this summer - Im starting to develop some sort of jumper) and all I do is play "crafty" D and grab both O and D rebounds

When young and in shape, Norm Nixon, now Joey Hassett, stand around and jack up 3's.

I can shoot the three and have a decent game inside and in the mid-range shooting. I'm not one to handle the ball often and i'm an average scorer. I lack consistency, and i'm a below average defender, but i'll usually be able to have a few games where I score a lot, and others where I don't make much of a difference at all. I'm better playing as a team and getting my points, than just taking over a game. I'll occasionally hit clutch shots, but don't mind if I make the extra pass.

My primary impact is on defense. I love rebounding even though I'm a bit underzsized at 6'1'', 170. I crash the glash with abandon, skying over other players and boxing out. I can lock down opposing scorers with my long arms. I block at least two shots per game. On offense, I can go the whole game only taking a few shots. I rely on turnaround hook shots and running one-handed floaters. I have very poor handles, so I can't drive the lane. My jump shot has range but only when set, and I'm a streak shooter. I can dunk.

I'm probably most like Marcus Banks. I'm best on defense. Not a great shooter, but I'm fast and can get to the bucket. Though I think I'm pretty good at passing/court vision, so perhaps I'm not that much like Banks :p

^This picture shows Marcus Banks being a spaz. I am also a spaz.

My game is like Boris Diaw's. My shot from the perimeter is very inconsistent, and I prefer to pass then score, even when I have a clear lane to the basket. Every now and than a rebound will fall into my lap, other than that I’m not much of a rebounder.

Im like a Jason kidd though i play for a different school then he played for. I can pass well, but im also a good scorer. from time to time im known to crash the boards, even im only 6'2 190, as jason kidd also does. im not quite the driver that he is, but i have a lot more reliable shot from the outside. im not sure about kidd but i can also dunk.

My game is like Najera. Very little skill and all hustle. I get some offensive rebounds at times.

Besides Tank, you guys sure do think highly of yourselves lol..

i dont think anyone is saying they are AS good as thes players, only that they play in a similar manner against far weaker competition.
