Why are they using Wilson as a LB?

Just wondering why all of the sudden Clancy is using Wilson as the rushing LB in most blitz schemes and leaving the CBs to go 1 on 1? Is it because we aren't generating a pass rush?

I like the change, but I think it is going to burn our cornerbacks like they did over and over with Holt and Bruce getting pretty easy TD grabs.

He isn't typically used as the 'rush' LB, but he is up at the LOS quite a bit since Pendergast arrived.

With Dansby and Berry out, they had to try and generate a pass rush. And with Wilsons great speed it worked to perfection. We where also lucky that Blackstock played as well as advertised.

It does leave our CB's on a bit of an island. But it forces teams to match up with our own passing game, which plays to our strength really.

Exactly. Which is why I'm keen to see it again against JAX. As I don't believe their recievers are in the class of Bruce and Holt.

Well, luckily we dont have to go against Holt and Bruce every week.

Going against Jimmy Smith, Earnest Wilford, and Matt Jones will definately not be a walk in the park especially if Greg Jones (the exact kind of power back that will drop 150 and 2td's on us) has a good day.

This game has the potential to be very ugly...

Green has said that our pass defense is dependent on getting pressure on the QB. In fact it is vital for us to be successful. With the injuries we have there aren't too many ways to do that other than what they did Sunday. Glad to see them try something new and really glad that it worked.

That's just stupid. He is a kick ass safety with the support. He has stepped into the role of LB because of necessity. If we had LB's that could negate the need for AW to blitz on every play I gaurantee the pass yards against would drop dramatically.

Anybody complaining about AW's play is reaching. Look elsewhere for blame. AW is a stud.
