The headline in the Chicago Tribune sports section today is "heaven help him" with a picture of Matt Leinert below it. Each beat reporter had predicted a Bears win and all by 21 points or more. They have even gone so far as to suggest the evening will be a failure if the Bears get less then 8 sacks. One attacked Boldin for having said words to the effect that if the Cards prepared as best they can, and execute w/o mistakes they could stay with the Bears. They predict a stadium more then 50% Bear fans.

If the Cards players have any pride in themselves, knowing the season is about to go down the drain, and that they are on national TV, they would make the superlative effort. This might be their "Super Bowl" but I'm not sure the have it in them.

Well the Bears fans can be arrogant. I mean look how many Super Bowls they have won the last 15 years :doi:. Wasn't it 2 years ago they were 4-12 and drafting Cedric Benson in the top 5 ? The Cards can easily win this game tonight. The Bears have beaten one good team,Seattle at home, and played 3 awful teams in Detroit, Buffalo, and Green Bay. I know the Cards also only have one win but, talentwise, they are much better than those 3 teams. The one decent team Chicago played on the road, Minnesota, had them beat until a late turnover, iirc. I'm not saying the Cards will win but it should be a close game and i wouldn't be surprised if they win.

I have been in Chicago for a year. I have met at least five people who didn't know that the Cardinals played football in Arizona.

uh-huh. And then they got good.

Wasn't it the last 40 years we've been drafting in the top-15?

We're gonna get killed.

You're never going to make captain of the cheer squad with efforts like this!

My morning was ruined when I passed a car waiving a Bears' flag at 8:00 am today so the Cards will play and play well!!! I don't care what anyone says, this will be a good game. And I for one, wouldn't be surprised if we pull out a win. Even if we lose, it won't be the blow out everyone is predicting.

As for the stadium being filled with Bears fans? Those are band wagon fans and I plan to take a sign to that effect. So it's up to us to take signs and make sure our chants and cheers are louder!

Any good, clever words to put on a sign regarding the bandwagon Bears fans? I'll be checking this site until noon when i leave work to make this sign then begin tailgating!

GO CARDINALS!!

We are going to get our a$$ kicked tonight. Team is too fractured. Season is over. Need a new coach.

And the funny thing is i could have posted this after every week 6 THE LAST FIFTEEN YEARS!

I just hate the fact that we have no chance in this game and it has nothing to do with talent whatspever. It is because of lack of heart and everyone on the team already having wrapped up the season mentally. And i thought this is the area where Edge would have made the biggest difference. That and Lovie Smith is going to coach circles around our guys. Green must go. Too bad we couldn't have identified this a year earlier and got someone like Sean Payton.....

AF:

I hear ya. What a contrast it was, watching the Saints-Eagles game yesterday, to see Payton with his headset on during crunch time, actively managing the game, and talking to Brees on the sideline. And pulling out a fourth-quarter comeback win against a team that was expected to expose the Saints' winning record as an illusion.

Think we'll see something similar tonight?

The Dolphins have many problems, but most observers don't think their coach is one of them. I wish I could say the same of the Cardinals.

1-5. Thank goodness they have a great coach, or they might be 0-6, right?

I root primarily for two teams and they're both 1-5, after offseasons that had prompted optimism for much more. The Cardinals winning the NFC West? The Dolphins in the Super Bowl? Pundits were predicting both possibilities, only a few weeks ago. So this season pretty much sucks, as far as I'm concerned.

But this board is about the Cardinals, the last I looked. So if you wanna talk smack about the Dolphins, I suggest you find one of their boards and post away. I'm sure you'll get an enthusiastic reception.

Sorry, I'm a bit grouchy today. Yeah, I'm sure it's a sucky season for you.
