WHOA. The Denver Nuggets just fired head coach Mike Malone AND GM Calvin Booth.

It was one thing with the Memphis Grizzlies firing Taylor Jenkins with the playoffs looming -- it felt like things weren't going well even if they were headed for the postseason.

And ... there might be a reason behind that.

There have been rumblings that Malone and Booth didn't get along. Former ESPN NBA insider Zach Lowe said back in September (via Denver 104.3 The Fan) that there were "Rumblings! That the coaching staff and front office, or at least the head coach and the front office, aren’t exactly seeing eye to eye in Denver. To a degree even unusual for the NBA."

And then there was this from Kevin O'Connor:

Absolutely nuts. Booth and Malone never liked each other, rarely spoke, and talked behind each other's backs. With the team struggling on the court, Nuggets ownership decided to fire both. Insane. https://t.co/BUVS7grQWq
