Why do they even report the total contract value?

These reported deals are so stupid - report the guaranteed money, since 90% of these guys won't see one dime of their contracts aside from that.

$63 million for Byron Maxwell looks incredible until you realize that $40 million of that is salary that he will never see after they cut him in a few years.

How about how deals & terms that are already done (a violation) during the "3 day weekend" before FA even begins? The NFL is bitching about it today but never do anything about it to the teams. Lol

It's the agents that leak the top dollar on those deals. They want it to look as beneficial to them as possible.

Do agents get their cut based off of total
contract or guaranteed dollars? If it's the former, then we know why.
