Why I like Whiz:

I read blogs about him and listen to what he says in interviews/pressers so when I think about our great head coach the one thing that has ALWAYS impressed me is how absolutely loyal he is to the fans.

Everything he says is about how we (the TRUE fans) deserve better and his goal is to deliver that. Thats what makes him a keeper in my book.

I think a team can often take on the demeanor...

of its' Head Coach. In the 3 yrs. he's been here Coach Whiz' has "earned" RESPECT. From his players, peers, and the community. ...And respect is one of those VALUABLE things in Life that is "earned". NOT GIVEN. When I think of Coach Whiz' I think of a leader who is going to PERSEVERE! NO MATTER the "obstacles", he'll keep the GOAL in-focus. ...And he'll achieve it. Someday. It's just a question of time. GO CARDS!

As a 40 yr fan, I think there needs to be much more national love for HC Whiz. Two Division crowns in a row? I have to slap myself from complining about an ugly win. An ugly win? for the Cardinals? When you're bad, its a lucky win.

To me, Fitz is the type of player that epitomizes Whiz, but Dockett and Q (before the season) just don't seem to fit the profile. Whiz is confident while not cocky or mouthy, Dockett not so much

I agree but disagree. See I think Whiz is two different people. A Jekyl and Hyde if we want to go there. On offense I think he likes our guys to be "Fitz"ed up (emotional but a soft spoken, always striving to be better attitude) where on the other side of the ball I think he wants our guys "Dock"ed out (get in your face and never let you forget who I am attitude). You need to crazies on your defense. And if you ever read Docketts twitter, you see NUMEROUS questions about where would be the one place he wants to play and his answer is almost always "wherever coach Whiz and Grimm are". I don't think we'd be hearing that if Dockett wasn't "Whiz type of guy".

Whis definitely has done a fantastic job. He learned under some very bright people, e.g., Bill Cowher and Dan Henning. What impresses me is the way he has taken notes for many, many years. So he has a fantastic storehouse of experiences and situations that he's encountered along the way. And I suspect he can network with some of the folks he's encountered along the way for advice and encouragement.

I also like his even-keeled demeanor. Don't get me wrong, he can take a firm line like he did after last season's fiasco in New England. But, by and large, he seems to be a steadying, calming presence, who can make sound decisions, and has an excellent handle on his players and their capabilities.

Of course, largely escaping serious injury over the last two years hasn't hurt.
