I've actually liked Sarver ever since I heard him on the radio after the Joe Johnson situation. He was passionate and he spoke from the heart and I really appreciated it. He really does want to win, but he's also a smart business man and has to draw the line and not let the fan part of him take over.

I agree. To think he should NOT worry about the tax numbers & forget this is still a buisness is crazy. The small move they made in the draft that wont make much diff. will end up saving the team like 10mill. That is a TON of cash.

I was a little iffy on Sarver, his antics wore thin in the beginning, because he was such a polar opposite from the class of Colangelo. After he signed Boris and Leandro last year I was convinced that he is willing to do what it takes.

I won't completely like Sarver until he stops waving that foam finger on the floor and acting like a complete amateur.

I don't get it. When it comes to financially running the team, everyone wants him to act like a fan. When it comes to watching the team on the court, everyone wants him to be a stuffy accountant.

That's some strange logic there.

Chap, no one wants him to act like a stuffy accountant. Are you a chicken-dance, foam finger waving guy? I've met you and I KNOW you aren't, but using the logic above, the only option left is for me to believe you're a stuffy accountant type, which I know you aren't as well.

The above assumes there is no middle ground between a stuffy accountant and out-right boobery. I think most of the board falls into that middle ground.

Sitting center court for every game screams "look at me" - especially with the way he conducts himself. I appreciate the amount of money he puts in to the team as well as his enthusiasm, but I wish he would conduct himself with a little more class ala Jerry Colangelo. For what it's worth, I've met with Sarver several times just because of where our seats are located and he's a complete putz and does not care about the fans and the team as much as he cares about his bottom line.

Sarver is the opposite of Jerry C.

All fans will learn this in time.

I love Foamy, He is not cheap as I once though, he is more along the lines of having Spurs Front Office envy. Unfortunately Marion doesn't deserve max money and that with Thomas is throwing their salary out of wack.

He is getting there and I think they will become smarter over time.

I don't recall the post being offensive, but I suppose that's the price of holding different view?

I was just looking around and saw many other post with the same word I used and no action took place.
I dont want to look up all that info for some Mod who I have seen say much more harmful things to people in the past, delete my post so that he can seem important! I am a passionate SUNS fan and even though I dont post much I still deserve the same treatment as other posters!

The Suns will have the fourth highest team payroll this season at around 77 mil. They are behind NY, Dallas, and Denver and we still have roster spots to fill. Sarver makes some cheap moves but if you look at the big picture, he is shelling out some major cash. The thing that he doesn't get is that a late first rounder that doesn't pan out isn't as bad as a bad MLE signing. Our roster could be filled out with cheap rookie contracts instead of veterans who can't contribute.

Show me any other post where the poster deliberately used punctuation to get around the language filter and I will remove that post as well.

I am not going to edit your posts for you. It is your job as a user of this site to edit yourself and follow the site guidelines. Don't curse and your post doesn't get trashed.

if you were just looking around and seeing this why would you have had to look up anything when the first part of the sentence implies you already found it.

Cheese, we haven't seen ANYTHING over the top from Sarver in quite some time, not since 2006-2007. He has actually held his own pretty well this past season. The guy's a fan, I'm not going to begrudge him using a foam finger. :biglaugh:

Is he having you over for a BBQ? You guys don't know one single thing about Sarver. One guy sees him in person at a game and all of a sudden he's Scrooge McDuck? Shyeah right.

Sarver didn't extend Marion. BC did.

him announcing that Amare was our pick last year was pretty obnoxious.

Still, you avoided completely what I was talking about, which was the hyperbole you injected where you stated that people wish he was an accountant. You really think people don't think there can be a middle ground?

You know exactly what I meant. Why must you concentrate on semantics?

Honestly Chap, I don't know what you meant because a) you haven't said what you meant and b) if I'm supposed to know what you "mean", doesn't that imply that you're statement is up to interpretation and I interpreted it saying that a lot of people on this board want him to be a stuff accountant, which would be a really stupid for those people to believe. Thus the reason I asked you about a middle ground to clarify, but you didn't answer that either, so what am I supposed to think at that point?

if it was hyperbole, fine. but I think we all know that people turn to hyperbole/insulting commentary when they really have no other argument to make. not sure why you'd go there, but whatever.
