Supposedly you can download it from the Suns site but my internet connection is way too slow. I'm waiting for the book (transcript) if they post it.

I typed out a transcript of the interview after watching the video twice. I've posted it in my blog. You can read it at this link

Pardon the sloppy formatting in places...its tiring to iron out all the kinks :)

Thanks Nash for writing up a transcript of the Suns news conference as I could not get the feed. The following comment especially caught my eye:

D'Antoni continues: I didn't know he could play. Griffin and ? saw something in him.
I had no idea he was this good. He wasn't a great shooter a great shot. I had no idea he could guard big guys. he surprised me a lot.
I wish I can take credit, but I cant. (laughs)

It sounds like Griffin is more involved in evaluating talent that I was aware.

no problemo! I didn't quite catch the name of the second dude D'A mentioned. hence the ?

D'A actually mentioned the fact that Griffin and co had a lot of faith in 3D more than once during the presser.

EDIT : The ? was Bryan.

Coaches don't really get much chance to evaluate personnel of other teams - especially if they are in the other conference. Seeing a guy a few times doesn't give much indication as to how well the guy performs day in and day out.

Clearly the scouting of Boris was more about what he did in France than in Atlanta. Griffin did not let bad coaching cloud what he was looking for.
