Campbell was the best RB I ever saw coming into the pro's. Smith, Sanders and Peyton were great. He was incredible.
He took an severe pounding and dished it out, game in and game out. And he faced possibly the best defense of of any team ever, twice a year in the Steel Curtain. Plus the playoffs. Earl was the man. Tyler Rose.

Hear, hear.

If I could start a franchise, and choose any RB in NFL History, it would be Earl Campbell.

Personally,

running a 4.4 on a bad toe, and gaining 200+ in a bowl game on a bad toe.

At 235 lbs?

I am all for Jonathan Stewart to be in Cardinal red next season. I would not mind him being taken at 16th overall. This kid has the measurables and toughness to be a RB in the NFL.

Plus, you could then stamp the Cardinals specialty offensive players with a "done stamp"

Leinart, Boldin, Fitzgerald, and Stewart. All young, all with loads of potential.

Spend the rest of the draft and FA on OL, and D-fense.

Mitch, I know he's on the small side, but I was really disappointed with his 40 time, someting like 4.58. Am I missing something?
I don't really know who he is, but I don't concern myself with lineman 40 times too much. I wonder what Berry's 40 time was (hell, or IS for that matter).

Joe I've heard/read differently. Who knows. If the team puts off taking an OT until the later rounds, they, also, probably think it's a deep class. Since we have so many needs I hope that scout is correct.

Not just any scout but Pitts director of football operations and head scout.

"“It’s the best group I’ve seen in 24 years collectively, and it was a good group before the juniors were added to it,” Steelers director of football operations Kevin Colbert said. “Those guys enhanced what we really think is a strong group. The majority of them can play on the left side or play both sides. It’s unusual to have that many guys that big and that athletic and that productive. I think for the ones that are on the right (side) some of them have actually played on the left before and they probably have that flexibility. Just to be able to play the left (side) is such a premium. I think you can get a tackle in (the first) three rounds.”

Skorp, in reference to Rice's number of carries, I think you make a good point. He's from a city near me, and in HS, he also got a lot of carries, and he's not a big guy. Maybe teams figure, that in today's NFL, where the trend is to two running backs, he'll last. He is good, though.

I think the "2 back" trend is overrated. Teams still want 1 workhorse to hitch their wagon too. Most of the teams that went with the 2 back system did so because no 1 guy stood out. When Indy won a Super Bowl they were easing a rookie RB in to their system. The Vikings used 2 backs this year because they already had a very good one and AP fell in their laps.

I like it for Cason, but I want to go RB/CB or CB/RB in the 1st/2nd round.

There are some really good players at both positions that will last to the 2nd round. After that though, the pickings at CB and especially RB get thin.

And I do think RB is a priority.
