While I have not given up hope that the Dbacks can three-peat the NL West, both SF and ANA have shown that a division title is not required to make the World Series. With our pitching, I like our chances in any playoff series. The only trick is getting into the playoffs.
The Diamondbacks start tonight in 5th place in the Wild Card Standings - 5 games behind Philly.
Montreal is 1/2 game ahead of us
St. Louis is 1 game ahead of us
Florida is 3 games ahead of us
Lurking behind us is:
Chicago is 1/2 game behind
Los Angeles is 1 1/2 games behind
Colorado is 1 1/2 games behind
Tonight:
Montreal plays at the Dbacks.
Florida plays at St. Louis
Philly plays at Colorado
Chicago plays at San Diego
LA hosts Cincinatti.
So, we play the team immediately in front of us. That is our first goal - pass Montreal, which we can do tonight. Two of the other teams in front of us play each other, so we can gain ground on 1.
