Seattle win keeps Cards scant hope alive

I watch other defenses play the Rams and see an obvious game plan but the Cards have no clue how to stop them either coaching or personnel

Or maybe it’s just effort

Seattle clinches the West.

Green Bay cannot clinch the 1-seed this week thanks to Seattle win. Barring their game getting flexed next week (unlikely), GB would have to play their starters.

If I understand correctly...if we win next week we are in...correct? Bears/packers no longer matters.
Yes. Unless we plan on playing to a tie. ONLY THEN, GB/CHI determines our playoff fate.

Week 17 scenarios:

AZ win: in
AZ tie: need CHI loss (not a tie)
AZ loss: out

If Cardinals win, would be 6-seed with Chicago loss or tie. Would be 7-seed with Chicago win.

If Cardinals tie, would be 7-seed with Chicago loss.

If we beat LA, we are the #2 team in the West. The Rams would be #3 and could NOT get playoff priority over us.

If we beat LA and the Bears win, LA is out.
If we beat LA and the Bears lose, the Bears are out and LA is in. Cards get the #6 seed and LA would be the 7 seed...

I am flummoxed! Are you telling me that we are IN the playoffs???
No, see @TheCardinal's concise summary:

If Cardinals win, would be 6-seed with Chicago loss or tie. Would be 7-seed with Chicago win.

If Cardinals tie, would be 7-seed with Chicago loss.

The only part he left unsaid in the quoted post is that if the Cardinals lose next week, they're OUT & the Rams get the #6 seed with Chicago #7 (regardless of Chicago's result next week).

Also, looking at things from the Rams' perspective, if Chicago wins the Rams need to win to get in (as the #6 seed). If Chicago loses, the Rams are IN and the outcome of their game vs. the Cardinals only determines whether the Rams are the #6 seed (ahead of Chicago, with the Cardinals OUT) or the #7 seed (behind Arizona, with the Bears OUT). EDIT: Oh - or the Rams could even get the coveted #5 seed with a win, if Tampa Bay (vs. Atlanta) AND Chicago lose.

3. Seahawks (11-4) Clinched NFC West.

4. Washington (6-9) Still lead NFC East.

We don’t need the Bears to lose to get in.

It's still in our own hands I guess.

Beat the Rams and GB win we take the 6th seed. Beat the Rams and the Bears win and we take the 7th seed.

Either way we win were in. If we can't beat a team with a QB with a broken thumb or a no name UDFA then we don't deserve it.
