Losing Hernandez hurts. He's been really good for us and is a huge character in that offense and in the locker room.

But also, he's a guard, and teams should be able to adequately replace guards without losing too much. Especially after drafting 2 of them the last 2 years.

I'd like to see Jon Gaines given the shot, although I imagine it will be Colon.
Between Gaines, Colon, and Adams, I agree, one of them should be able to be an adequate replacement.

Well to be fair there was little drop off for the remainder of the game against the Niners with Colon from what I could tell. Hopefully it continues.
I Think thare was a Big drop off.

I’m curious if petzing Keeps Colon as the Safe plan Or insert Adams Or Gaines.

Adams IMO would probably not skip a beat in the run-blocking. But pass-blocking would suffer

can you give examples of the drop off because that run game and overall OL push in the 2nd half was no joke.

They had to change the scheme as Colon didn't look good on outside pulls. The pass-protection suffered. Insides runs looked solid.

Colon rated absolutely horrible in pass-blocking per PFF.

Will Hernandez's win-rate ranks among interior OL before his season-ending knee injury:
Run-blocking: 5th
Pass-blocking: 20th
Big loss the rest of the way. I'm sure the Cardinals will attempt to re-sign him provided the rehab goes smoothly.
