Does anyone know if this guy will be in uniform Sunday? We could really use him even if he doesn't know the scheme that well. We are suppose to be a read and react defense right?

I think we used to be a read & react ala 2 gap, now supposedly we are attacking - 1 gap scheme. Frankly I don't know if I can tell the difference yet.

According to Mac, they expect Ransom to play in rotation Sunday - both at DT and DE. But the impression I got was that, if Wakefield isn't ready to go, DJ will start.

As I posted earlier on another thread. I think I would start DJ, regardless of Wakefield's status. He looked pretty good, overall, in the Seattle game.

..and I totally agree with Shane....Ransom most certainly will not start.

From Kent Somers today:

Ransom ready

The Cardinals flew defensive lineman Derrick Ransom in on Monday, signed him on Tuesday, and coach Dave McGinnis said Ransom will be in the defensive line rotation against Green Bay.

Drafted by Kansas City out of the University of Cincinnati in 1998, the 6-foot-3, 306-pound Ransom was a free agent last year. He visited the Cardinals in the spring of 2002, but he elected to re-sign with the Chiefs. He was in the final cut this year.

"It's tough, because I made my home there," Ransom said on Wednesday about being cut. "It was tough to watch those guys (the Chiefs) and the success they were having. It's my second visit to Arizona, and I was hoping to stay this time."

Since they signed Ransom and Bell should be back this week, also Fred Wakefield has not been cleared to practice yet(as of yesterday). I believe the starters at DT will be Bell and Davis with Ransom and Tanner as backups.

With Wakefield out, I see Pace starting at one DE and either Bryant or Johnson starting at the other.

If Wakefield plays, I still think they move Bryant to DE until King gets back. I believe they would start Bryant and use Wakefield as a backup.

Since Derrick will play Sunday and Ken King is out, the thread might better be titled:

"King's Ransom."

Actually I was going to make a Kings Ransom joke. That's the first thing I thought when I saw we signed a DT with that name. Don't worry Jeff, I got your back.

The scary thing is....every single one of my senseless, pointless and just plain ridiculous posts is has been done while completely sober....

and yes, you did just agree with Tango. Don't feel bad Cheesbeef did earlier.
