But the other teams actually have a good defense when they do that to us...our interior D will improve, but not if Shaq can't keep up.

i didn't quite get what you meant, but if this new style is to work, i agree, shaq has to really work (honestly though, i think he'll get more rest because he doesn't have to carry the team (or co-carry) like he did in the past) less pressure more focus, productivity can only go up (or efficient at the least)...

I mean our D still isn't that good. Shaq will help out with that, but not vs. a team as quick as the Warriors unless D'Antoni somehow becomes a good defensive coach and has a good game plan for them. Besides the Warriors I do think he gives us a better chance vs. any other team.

There should be a maybe... a lot depends on how Shaq is used and "fits in" with the team and the system. In his own words, talent alone does not guarantee anything, all pieces have to fit together.

I like our chances better than i did last week but i think we need another piece to make up for the loss of Marion's man on defense.
I voted no.....but i'm still pumped!

look for DJ to see more time. He is capable of covering 1-3 (much like marion who could do 1-3 and some 4's). I worry about what he might be like in the playoffs for us, however

Yeah i saw the Hornets game & i liked what he was able to do as far as pressuring on the perimeter. His inexperience would kill all those positives in the playoffs though but at the same time, it'd be nice to involve him in the playoff rotation at around 7-8 minutes per to gain that experience.

They deserve that credit. The athlete's desire to get better and his discipline to stick to a program has an affect on the outcome, too. But their group is having a lot more success compared to others which tells you there must be something about their system that is genuinely effective. I hope they achieve great results with Shaq.
Sometimes I think about changing my dream specialty from thoracic surgery to ortho surgery + sports fellowship. (aspiring physician here) I think it can be a very rewarding field.
Good luck to Aaron and co!

During the press conferences, Kerr and Shaq kept talking about the team doctors like they were miracle workers! Apparently, they use very holistic, progressive treatments. The results speak for themselves: Nash has the footspeed of an 18 year-old, and Hill is playing like a kid again too.

Shaq made a public commitment to the doctors and their regimen, so there's no reason he won't be in even better shape by the time he sets foot on the court in a Phoenix jersey. :)

Dont forget our other post player that had microfracture surgery then made All NBA First Team.

Shaq doesn't really need much of treatment!!!

Get away from that 2 hour intensive pre-game practice and drill sergeant Pat Riley. That's all he need!

Perhaps, but this Suns team will not be facing a team as good as the 90s Bulls in any playoff series. Without them, there's a good chance the Suns and Jazz would have championship rings, not to mention that Pacers and (more for the) Knicks. But that's sports, and besides, these Suns don't need to worry about that anyway...!

Houston actually cost us two titles.

This is not a great question. Clearly the 2 trades were different. Barkley was brought in here to be our dominate player/leader. Shaq was not. We had a stretch of bad luck that had more to do with us not getting a title then anything CB didn't do.

If we win a title with Shaq here it will be more about us adding Grant, Adding Shaq, changing our style and picking up good role players like GG that will win us the title. Shaq wouldn't bring the title here as much as be one of a few pieces that helped us win a title.

well put. saying this, shaq cannot deliver what barkley could not. nash and amare could, shaq will just help them get there. it's been said several times, he's not brought here to carry the team but to help them get over the hump...

even as a shaq fan, i'm still not buying the idea of the suns winning it all, based on the team's current good performances. as far as i'm concerned, the test drive doesn't start until the second round of PO. so until then, i'll shush. no question the suns are totally could, but "could" and "will" are totally different since several other teams also "could"...

i do like our chances, including next year with everything else being equal...

Maybe next season. This year there are so many teams that seem to have the Sun's number.

NO!!! I do believe you can win...and if you do i would be more inclined to say Amare delivered it and shaq was along for the ride.

Maybe its just me, cause im no Shaq fan, but i find it quite condesending the way Shaq says hes here to take Amare to a new level. Last i looked, it's Amare thats taking Shaq there.

Amare didn't take Marion or Diaw there. No, Shaq's presence is allowing Amare to reach a new level.

Actually any legitimate Center would have accomplished that.

But Shaq with his extra large bulk, exuberance, sense of humor and Championship experience is maximizing that.

I understand what your saying, but how do you explain Amare's dominance when shaq is on the bench? It's happened a lot!
