TJ/fillers and our pick top-1 protected or Anderson and our unprotected pick.

I will take the first option just in case the Suns get lucky in the lottery.

I mean the second option is an AD-level offer. There’s no way I’d trade a 14% chance at Zion for Jrue.

If the Lakers are willing to trade everything in order for the Pels to trade AD now then we’d get Lonzo and the Pels would get our protected pick. I would do top-7 for Lonzo in a heartbeat.

I'd prefer Warren, fillers, the Milwaukee pick and our 2020 top 1 protected but I wouldn't do it till after the season. I'd rather not screw with our already meager 14% chance of Zion or our 28% chance of Zion or Morant.

It could be a situation where our pick lands 3-5 and we’d draft the player for New Orleans. After July 1 salaries wouldn’t have to match. It would still take a non-Booker/Ayton player of their choice along with the pick (plus a future pick).

Adding players and the draft are the same it's all a crapshoot trying to find a combination. You gotta shake it up. 2004 didn't happen because of just the draft. You had to sign Q and Nash and have a coach who said let's do this. All this drafting and following the Sixers path is crap. Shake it the F up

I don't believe a franchise has ever shook it up as much as we have the past season and a half, it's like they took your advice a year in advance. As has been stated many times, there were 17 players on our team last season that are not on this team. There are 10 players (maybe more now) that are on this roster that were not here last year. We've shook up the front office, the coaching staff and the roster. I think we've even made some changes to our fan base. We couldn't be more shook up if we were dice in a cup.

A Booker/Holiday back court would be exciting. Then add Ayton and Bridges.

I don't think that will get it done. If it does that would be great though.

They will certainly get better offers. We are not going to get a 21 8 and 5 PG for TJ and a bunch of garbage. I'm sure their GM will figure out that if we add Holiday and Zion to Ayton and Booker our 2020 pick won't be worth much.

Besides, what are we going to do with Zion, he's going to mess up our chances of the number one pick in 2020....:)

Seriously though, if the team has a chance to bring in a PG like Holiday they must make the move. For me the only thing off limits is Booker, #1 pick and Ayton. We need a bold move even it comes with high risk.

The continued losing is having a negative impact that must be reversed. Winning may make it harder to have a high draft pick but it opens other doors, like being able to sign star players, or being a destination for players who are demanding a trade etc....

In short I don't want to give away the farm either, I just don't think the suns have a choice.

Holiday is a heck of a player but I think his salary, age and injury history will make him less desirable to many teams. If we trade for him at the deadline he'll probably add 3 to 5 wins to our total that we wouldn't get without him. Not enough to make any kind of a difference except when it comes to our drafting position. I just don't think it's worth giving up on the Zion dream.

Got rid of Bled what 4 games in? We got rid of chriss...Chandler and what...Dudley? I'm talking about really making a move...not hiring the Steve Wilks of the NBA. Adding quality FA like Nash and Q. Have a plan and system that fits the roster. Bigger cup for them dice sir

That's not shaking it up, that's just making better decisions and I'm in favor of that. We signed Chandler, Dudley, Ariza and others but none of them turned out to be Nash. And I'm sure if we could find a Nash, we'd try to sign him.

I remember the morning we signed Nash and we took tons of heat and it was painted as what are they thinking...Robert was even there to sign him I believe. So I know he knows what it takes and what we need. 15 yrs later it's a no brainer....true PG

Ok, who is that "true PG" and what will it cost to acquire him? Everyone knows we need a PG but if we empty the cupboards to bring in a PG then what do we have left for that PG to work with? I'm sure Booker and Ayton will still be here but those 2 don't win games on their own. We also need decent backups and other rotation players because our new PG, Booker, and Ayton don't complete a rotation. If we end up trading something like Jackson, Warren, the Bucks pick, and a future pick of our own, then what do we have left? We just lost 2 rotation players and now if another deal comes along what can we offer? We no longer have picks to trade and we lost 2 good players that could be used in various trades. I know we'd have Bridges still but Oubre is a free agent this summer, so it's guaranteed he'll be here next year. So now we're stuck in a position where we've lost depth and trade assets to make a move this year to help us win 4 or 5 more wins this year and hurt our lottery position and what that pick could be dealt for, if we didn't include that already. We also don't have cap space anymore. So we got a PG but now we have holes elsewhere. That's why it's best to wait until this summer to make moves and change the team a bit.

Anyone but Ayton, Bridges and Booker should be available

in order of trade likeliness from top (most likely) to bottom (least likely)

Oubre : we are a capspace team and he has a 10M$ caphold so that makes it bad for us to hold onto him as it costs us a lot of capspace, he can't be packaged with other players but could be packaged with the Bucks pick and or the Suns 2nd round pick to return another player on a longer rookie contract (Ball, Smith etc)

Warren : value at an all time high probably and Bridges on board

Okobo : Melton has shown more, no need for 2 project PGs

Jackson : potential to trade value ratio is such that it makes not much sense to trade him now that his value is bound to be low

Holmes : low caphold means the suns can hold on to his right, but danger he gets paid more than a backup should by another team

Melton : too much long term potential to sell cheap

and then of course Daniels, Anderson, Bender, Crawford are spare parts for any trade if anyone wants them

When thinking "bold move" or "shake up". think KJ, Barkley, Nash... A move that has a high reward and may come with high risk. Of course sometimes it doesn't work out, Mc Dyess and Hardaway.

You've got to be aggressive. In the NBA if you are not winning you are screwed. Look at what's happening with the Pelicans, its a real problem and a real possibility that needs to be factored into the decision process.

I don't follow college ball at all so I have no idea but what is the thinking on how long it will take for Morant to be a 21 8 and 5 PG that can lead a team....two seasons, three, maybe never? this team will completely implode if it wins 20 games again next season.

You absolutely cannot have the thought process that you don't want to bring in top talent because it will hurt your draft position.

I do agree on not trading the #1 pick should we get lucky. The Zion highlights are insane.

Bright side did an article listing the likelihood and trade value of the entire roster, here's a link. It does only deal with rotation players so it leaves out Anderson, Daniels, and Booker Bender because it says the likelihood of one of those guys bringing back anything of value is virtually non-existent and I agree for the most part.

There was mention of Ayton + Warren and pick/filler for Davis.

I'm up for trading anyone on this team, if it means advancing our timeline by that much to get a player like Davis in his prime.

But I wouldn't do it just because of the chance that he'll bolt after next season. If he's not happy in NO, then he won't be happy as a Sun.

Its depressing how dysfunctional we are.

It sounds like a two-player draft right now, especially for the Suns, but we know that in retrospect it won’t be. It’s easy to write off draft position in say the 4-10 range, but every spot higher gives you a better chance of taking the player you want from a range of comparable value. Or a better chance of trading the pick to a team that wants a specific player in that range more.

I know I’m being totally obvious, but posters consistently say, “I wanted player X at that spot, but he went a pick or two before.” Over time that’s a lot of alternate scenarios that we couldn’t explore.

So it’s not that I want draft position to dictate all in-season moves; I just want to see where we land before dismissing the pick or trading it in my mind.

Deandre Ayton — only if you give me a young, Top-10 big man back

This article makes zero sense. Why would we trade Ayton for a young top 10 big man? Name 10 young big man better than Ayton - you can't especially if you factor in potential, contract and health. It makes no sense to trade Ayton even for Embiid.

It's a two player draft for us but Barrett and Reddish will draw a lot of interest from teams that could use a wing player. Neither of them fit with Booker & Bridges/Jackson/Oubre/Warren and it's questionable how their fit would be with Booker. I think Morant will be available to the Suns provided we land in the top 4, Zion #1 is looking clearer by the day but who falls at #2 and #3 would determine who will be there when we pick, if Morant will be or not. I know Orlando is a team that would jump at the chance to get him because they need a PG almost as bad as we do. Atlanta won't take him because they have Young and Cleveland just drafted Sexton also. That gives us some hope.

Yeah, I agree. I swear to God that some people expected Ayton to be a 27 year-old Shaq in his rookie season. I just don't understand how someone can watch more than one Suns game with Ayton playing and want to trade him for a "top-ten center." The kid is the most advanced rookie I've seen in years. Sure, he has some issues, but rookie big men always have some issues.

The article falls apart there but I give the author credit for actually thinking through the process player by player.
