I just wonder with all the personalities/egos they are trowing into the mix if they can control the ship. It could go the way of the past failed Yankee or Redskin teams. Cromartie, Holmes, Taylor etc.

It certainly will take a strong personality to keep these egos all in check, but Rex Ryan IS a strong personality in himself. Might just make it work.

I really don't see a ton of problems with the team. They don't really have any "me-first" guys, and I feel they just got more talented at quite a few positions. Taylor is a solid personality, I don't see LT being a problem, Holmes' suspension probably won't be a factor in causing internal issues, and I've never really heard of any issues with Cromartie.

I think they're going to implode all the way to the superbowl. The only thing they've done this offseason that I thought was a mistake was letting Thomas Jones go.

I don't think they will have a problem. Granted some of these guys have had issues off the field, but none of them are like that T.O.esque cancer in the locker room. They all play within the system. They all make the team better. I like the Jets to win at least 11 games and possibly more if ************* progresses.

Having a ton of egos on defense doesn't really matter in my opinion. It's more of a factor on offense because there is only one football and everyone "needs" their touches.

Great point commish. Cromartie and rookie Kyle Wilson will bolster an already solid secondary. That was key as Peyton Manning tore them apart in the AFC Championship. On offense, Santonio Holmes will be the go to receiver when he comes off suspension. Tomlinson is aware he is no longer an elite running back and is only looking for a ring.

Coach-wise - the best way to describe it is: "Terrific at first, but with a short shelf life." If Rex is pretty much the chip off the old man's block, he should do pretty well at first, but after 2 or 3 years - the swagger and "high intensity" of those kind of coaches tend to get "old" & players start to tune them out.

Team-wise - If the Jets get on an early roll, the momentum could sustain them at a high level for a quite a while. But should things start to go south (i.e. a slump, a rash of injuries etc.) high-ego players will frequently turn on one other, start pointing fingers & cutting corners - and the whole deal could blow up in their faces.

They certainly have a lot of talent but if you look at the guys they brought in, all had down years, Cromartie had a couple of sub par years. Maybe they come in with a chip on their shoulder, but the one thing they got working against them is the NY media. Superstars usually have a hard time playing up to their media's expectations, ask Randy Johnson amongst others.
