the super bowl is in NY, not in CO or WA. I would assume CO and WA stadiums cannot say not pot allowed as they dont say you cannot bring in cigarettes. they can tell you not to smoke them but you cans till bring them in.

Wouldn't matter anyways since you can only smoke it in your own home on Colorado and the law in Washington is still unclear which is why they have not sold it yet.

They don't allow smoking in SEA's stadium. Which doesn't stop it, it just leads to the halftime stampede of smokers trying to stay ahead of the cops, who hand out tickets if they catch you. It's actually kinda funny.

Last time I was there, they really didn't care if you brought in a pack or not.

In Washington you can only smoke it in your own home and buy from a licensed distributor. The growers have already started growing I think. It is going up for sale here around June 1st. I don't believe they have even licensed anyone yet to sell. Technically it is still not legal for 5 more months here.

I work for the Dept. of Corrections here in WA. and as soon as the law was passed they sent a letter to all DOC employees say that DOC will contiue to have a no tolerance policy with weed. Sounds like a law suit waiting to happen to me.

Next few years everything is just wild. Lots of companies and occupations do not plan on following state laws, for many reasons besides the Gov. DOC is one of the touchy ones because they have access to prisoners, and prisoners have access to them. I personally think anyone who is eligible for a MMJ card should be eligible for a card. But the lawsuits that you mention will most likely be happening until over half theses great United States adopt the MMJ programs. The money coming in is ridiculous, even Republicans in Phoenix are changing their stances. :D

DOC is federal, even with medical the federal jobs and schools who take federal funding do not allow it. Until the feds legalize it, federal employees are held to different standards than regular state citizens.

As the dominoes continue to fall its sprinting toward a federal legalization. Once half the country has medical soon after 25% will have legal and everything will continune to grow.

I believe there is a statute that says once x number of states legalize something it becomes federally legal.

I am not a federal employee. Washington State Dept.of Corrections. How can the state legalize and tell its employees they cant partake. Are they going to say I can't drink a beer next? Not that I will but still.

I bet it's a lawsuit, but who wants to be the guy who smokes a joint, gets fired, and then has to sue to get his job back? That's a 2 or 3 year court battle at a minimum. And you'll get no federal support, nothing from the NLRB or DOL because it's illegal at the federal level.

I know that the CO law expressly protected against this sort of thing, but I don't know about the WA law.

Regardless, the courts should state that while an agency cannot fire or discipline you for smoking pot, they could fire or discipline you for being high on the job (similar to drinking beer, and showing up to work drunk).
