Kolb had some rough spots. But get him a real oline and you can absolutely win with him.

Agree

Kolb has proved to me this year he's one tough SOB & when given time he's the best we have

I think you can be mediocre with him. But that's the ceiling. I'm just so sick of mediocre. Two years of good play. That's what we've gotten. Okay, one with Jake. That's just not enough!

Not hardly. He's a very good third down back and a great special team's player. His value has been really diminished though since the rule change that pushed kickoffs up, because now most result in touchbacks. He was a great returner before the rule change. I still like him. He's not an every down back, though. Will be very disappointed if he gets as many carries as Powell next week.

I think we've all WANTED and EXPECTED him to be a good hird down back, but I don't think that ever fully materialized. I think the marginalization of his value by the kickoffs cemented the fact that he'll never be impactful again. At least not with any consistency.

Disagree. He may not be Tom or Peyton etc.... But you put a real OL in front of him and keep building our D you can be very good. I dont need Tom or Peyton i just want to stinking win.

Batiste gets a penalty. I keep thinking he'll sette in and get better but you can see why he's been released so many times, he's not good enough to start in the NFL.

this. Despite mitch's protestations otherwise, this guy ain't a legitimate starter. I don't think he's even 2nd string on most teams.

Howling's impact on the offense has been almost non-existent. Going into today he had 12 carries for a net of 1 yard and 2 catches for 14 yards. 11 carries for 22 yards today.

3 kick returns through 5 games and our kick coverage teams that he is supposed to be so valuable to haven't looked good since early last season.

Sorry Shane, I simply think you're nuts. That int he threw, he had time and stared down his receiver. He does it all the time. I think you've just been the victim of being bludgeoned by the Derek andersons, max halls, John skeletons of the world into thinking crappy is better than crappy.

You are right, but we don't have years to groom another web while this defense is a playoff quality one. Sure they are not elite, but 2008 proved we don't need elite to make the Super Bowl.

Of course we were not going to win a superbowl with this offensive line and qb, but this defense is more than good enough to make the rest of the year interesting.

I have been on the beanie bandwagon but i think WIPO is better. Wipo and ryan williams should be the combo going forward.

Bye bye Bean, good luck..

What value does he have. He drops screen passes, is too small to pick up blitzes against larger LBs, and isn't effective running draw plays. How is he an effective 3rd down RB? KR are almost irrelevant these days and I haven't seen him make an impact ST coverage play this year. Where is his value?

That didn't get Kolb killed. It did ruin the play, but Kolb put himself at risk when he tried to make something out of it instead of curling into the fetal position.

uh, if Kolb would not have tried all game to make something happen, this offense would have looked even worse

Powell was in for a couple kick offs too, wasn't he?

I know I can never change your opinion on this, but I think you wrong. Even when Kolb has time, his limitations show. He struggles to complete vertical passes, he fails to look off S's, and he struggles to stay healthy. In understand where you are coming from, but the NFL doesn't give QBs perfect situations. There will always be a player injured or a hit on him in a game. I agree that whomever our QB ends up being, we have to do a better job of protecting him, but even when we are winning with Kolb, his stats are nothing better than mediocre.

He is one of the gunners on punt returns. We was one of the best special teams players in the league. He is a willing and smart blocker. He is not an every down back. He is routinely used because we are terrible on first and second down. He gets very few opportunities. He has won games for this organization in the past.

He is what he is. A very solid player. Not a star, but very valuable to a football team. He also doesnt whine or show qbs or complains about playing time.

I'm pretty sure Kolbs QB rating the first 3 games was in the top 6 in the league

He was Top 10 in every major category except yards and YPA

So how did we have the 29th best offense in the NFL then? Ratings are an indicator but not the entire story. While we were 4-0 we were in the bottom 5 of the league in offense.

Oline brotha!!! You can't have breakdowns constantly in the run game & pass pro & have sustained drives.

Why do you think that is? Because he can't make the throws downfield. Team know it, and it's a big part of the reason the Cardinals have such a tough time rushing. Well, that and the OL sucks!
