I wont argue that there are many clueless fans in other places. I have attended many many many other games and sporting events in my life but nowhere near as many as you so I will defer. But just so you know Yankee fans as a whole are just clueless? ;o) I keed I keed!

No really I agree that for the most part a large % of the fans are good. But there was distinct differences in the crowd from the playoffs to the first reg season game this year. Now I know its not rocket science and that IS TO BE EXPECTED. However in the right situations the crowd should be able to get up and let it out much like the one I described above. In those instances that crowd should never be QUIET and I mean NEVER. Thats where they need to be schooled better and hopefully soon. there are plenty of styadiums where that just wouldnt happen.

If you're suggesting that the 9er game wasn't as loud as the playoffs - I agree!
Look, in these recessionary times, I'm amazed that stadium was as filled as it was. Phoenix has been decimated by the economy and yet, the stadium was packed. Were the fans perfect? 'Course not... but c'mon man. Had the team played even fractionally better I think you would be singing a differrent tune right now...

Anyway, I am 100% certain UoP will be rocking on Sunday evening. Now, if the Cards come out and lay rotten eggs all over the field, well - I certainly wouldn't blame anyone for taking a more mellow approach.

Megaphones!

When i made the trip to join Ouchie, Cheesebeef, and crew at the NFC Championship Game, we brought big stacks of inexpensive plastic megaphones from Party City.

We used them ourselves and handed them out to the loudest people we could find while tailgating before the game, and i'm convinced it helped the Cardinals to win the game!

If everyone here made it a ritual to bring some of these to every game, it could really make a difference. I wish i lived close enough to attend every game in person, but those of you who do should do your best to clean out the megaphone supply in every party supply store in town!

Let's do this TOGETHER!!!

The first time the 49ers got the ball I started making noise and people just looked at me like "What's wrong with this guy?" I'm raising my hands and saying "Let's get loud!!!" Eh, nothing.

No reason to save your voice for the end of the game or 3rd downs. Get loud when the opposing team has the ball !! Our defensive players shouldn't have to "raise the roof" on the field to get the crowd to make noise.

We got into a argument with the security checkpoint when we brought ours to the last game. The guy told us to throw them away. We refused. He told us again, we refused again. We told him to take us to his supervisor where he promptly told us it was ok to bring them in. (which of course we knew all along)

I've been a big advocate of the Red Megaphones for years now. I'm shocked we don't have more people with them. Those buck bad boys are great, clean every Party City you know of out of 'em.

Also, PLEASE just grab an empty beer bottle (yours or a neighbors) and bang the tip back and forth on the chair in front of you, between the back and the seat. It is ridiculously loud...empty water bottles with the cap work ok, but those plastic beer bottles are practically made to make noise in this manner. Or just slap your hand on the seat back, or bang it together.

Be fracking creative, man. Be loud.

I was so used to having 15,000-50,000 fans of the other team at Cardinal games It never occurred to me that it might be our fans making noise when the Cards were on offense. :bang:

If the Cards were smart(er), they would have turned this into a giveaway promotion. They could have "Megaphone Night" and issue one to every fan entering the game. A nice red one with the Cards' logo on it.

I have a feeling there may be an NFL regulation against giving away noise makers. But it would be nice if I was wrong.

Its not a noise maker. Thats why they allow them in the stadium.

At the niner game some dude had his taken at the security checkpoint. I got in with mine last year though.

All you have to do is refuse to give it up like linderbee said. I and Donald and abomb and everybody get in with them all the time. Ask them to show you how it makes noise and to see a supervisor. :)

It has to be electronic and making noise. That is the rule.

I've been advocating it for years now. It boggles my mind that they haven't latched on to it. IIRC, someone said Seattle once had a promotion like that.

The first time Manning calls a time out because his receivers can't hear him I'm coming unglued. When they get a false start I'll need a stretcher.

We need to be loud from the get go because Manning is going to come out guns blazing on his first play just like he did in Miami.

Man, I don't get choked up about very much in sports anymore.

But when I see 65,000 cardinals fans at UOP stadium on their feet, just bringing it... my chest tightens up a little.

I feel so proud of you guys. I feel proud to be a cardinals fan when I see you all representing like that.

My oldest is four and half now. He already knows the good guys have the red bird on the side of their helmet. It won't be long till we'll make it out there for a game. Pass the megaphone please!

lol.. Dont you hate that? I know I do.

Hell yeah. It will take a few more years of winning before we can replace all of these opposing fans.

Most of my section is opposing fans. Every week I see seats in my section on sale on craigslist and stubhub. Damn scalpers.

People should be able to get in with their mini-megaphones. Security is too focused on the size (in milliliters) of sealed water bottles to think of anything else.

To reiterate in case someone gets static over it at security.

Plastic megaphones are allowed in the stadium. They are not noisemakers. They can make no noise on their own. Your voice is the noisemaker. If a security person gives you an issue, and doesn't allow it in when you arrive, escalate it immediately to a manager and you will be allowed in.

Also, the red plastic cups with a cross cut in the bottom and sides folded up inside also work great and are about 5 cents each. You do have to show security that it is "empty" though!!!

Once inside, give your section a demonstartion of how loud a rolled up program is. Everyone can do that. And, remind them that noise only helps our defense. Each of us, on our own is only one voice. Be a leader (respectful and polite) and get twenty more people to follow your example.

For those about to rock, we salute you.
