Way Late??? The official was right there. If it were a late hit, then there would have been a flag. It was a perfectly clean & legitimate hit. If there's a fine, it'll be because of the Lynch hit.
Official not throwing a flag is not indicative of anything... case in point Boldin hit last week. Not that I agree with it. I don't believe it was a late hit. It was a very clean and ferocious hit. I have seen that replay several times, even in slow motion, and I don't see helmet hitting on first contact.

If anything Mitchell should be fined for gashing Warner's chin with his helmet.

He lead with the shoulder and when you drive someone down, its what doctor said.. where is he supposed to put his head? There was helmet to helmet contact, watch it again and you will see, but he wasn't head hunting hence why I say it wasn't dirty.

AW's helmet was to the side of Edwards helmet. It was not helmet to helmet as there was no direct contact other than when the sides of the helmets bumped together when Edwards hit the ground. It was a good clean hit. As far as driving him to the ground, when you are going full speed and tackle someone by diving at them, how do you control how they hit the ground? AW had his arms wrapped around Edwards. It was a text book tackle and perfectly legal. If he gets fined over this, it is ridiculous.

BTW, did any of you who went to the game notice that the announcer credited the sack to Chike Okeafor?

It wasn't a sack. It was a completed pass.

Sorry, I meant to say hit. Some idiot walked in front of me just as the play was happening and screened me from it. What is it with these people who can't wait until in between plays to leave or come back to their seats?

It wasn't late, didn't seem to be helmet to helmet...but if I were a Bills fan I might take umbrage at the way he seems to drive him to the ground even though he had to know the ball was gone.

JMHO

Agreed.

I think a suspension would be RIDICULOUS in this situation. Maybe a fine and a warning, but it looked clean to me.

Clean hit. Helmet to the shoulder, not late, drove him down, but through the hit, not with anything extra on it.

Not saying it won't be a fine, but if there is, it's wrong. If there's a suspension, there should be torches, pitchforks, and a march on NFL headquarters.

It was a clean hit at first. The part where he was driving Edwards down, their helmets collided. There was helmet to helmet contact. It was after the initial hit though.

I don't think there will be a fine. Definitely not a suspension.

The refs might have a bias against Wilson and throwing flags against him based solely on past trangressions when he was clearly doing personal fouls early in his career. That follows players for some reason. But the league does not have a bias against him as they have come out and said publiclly that some of his flags the last few years should not have been flags and didnt get fined for them.

So if Wilson does get fined it will not be because his name is Adrian Wilson, it will be because they really think it was a dirty hit. I think they have been very fair with their fines the last few years.

It wasn't late and it wasn't a helmet to helmet.
But AW did leave his feet and slammed the QB to the ground though.

I think that is why he will be fined. Not for helmet to helmet. Leaving your feet and launching yourself in that situation is usually a fine. It may not be dirty but the league is consistant with their fines in those situations.
