It just does. Going into the season I would think that 90% of this board would have taken 7-7 with at least a tiny opportunity for a playoff spot in mid December.
But not now. We had a little taste of success. We were 6-4 on a 4 game winning streak albeit against mainly patsie opponents. But we didn’t care.

Then we lost. Okay. Then we lost again. Dang it. But then we lost again and just like that we were 6-7. The thought of playoff sugar plums dancing in our heads were suddenly dashed.

Would we be happier if we were 3-11? Of course not. But man, when we get a taste of winning the losses just rip your heart out.

Making strides once were looked at with content. But not now. Barring a miracle ending to this 2024 season we will be here debating who needs to be fired, who needs to go and just what we need to do to get to the playoffs.

Every fan goes through it except for one. Every year we as fans are let down. When you ane eliminated from the playoff hunt. When you lose that first playoff game. Even when your team loses the Super Bowl.

The more you win, the bigger the disappointment. It’s just the way it is.

I honestly think I would be. 3 wins would help to force a OC and QB change. Right now we're getting set up to be mired in a bunch of 7-8 win seasons and never getting real tractions going. Mikey B's always been fine treading water like that.

Maybe, but it could also force MO to try and build the defense into a great defense. They're playing above expectations so it's possible a few pieces could make it great.

Then our run first, field position, and time of possession game means K1 doesn't have to be great. Just like today he wasn't great but good enough to win.

I’m pretty happy with 7-7 at this point of the season.
I would consider a 9-8 record in JGs second season a success (10-7 would be unexpectedly welcome, and a playoff game, I would be one proud Card fan!)
It’s an improvement over 4-13 and a….winning record.
We have seen the offense click and when they did it was pretty impressive.
The defense has played with intensity and heart and fairly consistently.
I’m an optimist and I think we can build on this season and with some more pieces, be a contender next year.
IMO KM and JG showed improvement and deserve not only another chance but our backing for next year!
Go Cards! Let’s get this thing going!

Petzing needs to be fired. Has been true all season.

But yeah, I get you.

Blowing the 13 point lead in second half vs Vikings was painful. We really should have won that game. Losing twice to Geno Smith and the Hags with KM wilting under the pressure put a huge damper on the good feelings I had to that point.

It's because for me, the Viking game we should have won and getting dominated twice by Seattle is hard to explain.

I watched a bunch of seattle and Green Bay today, the Packers are better than us we know that they handled us easily, but they just basically destroyed Seattle. Take away the one fumble and that game is a complete rout. Green Bay on offense didn't have near as much trouble with the Seahawks DL as we did, Love had time to throw and as a result guys open. Seattle's DL just completely destroyed our OL both times.

So that's kind of hard to look at and NOT think how far we are away from a team like the Packers
