What will the crowd do if we take Peterson?

When you say 'the crowd" do you mean a physical group gathering somewhere. Like at COP? I suspect someone will be looking for a tree and someone will run over to Home Depot/Ace Hardware and look for some rope. I just don't know who the lucky guy will be but I have a hunch.

All this talk about trade down... it takes two to trade. Cardinals have not kept a secret that they would love to trade down but I don't think they will get any offers until they are on the clock.

Was wondering about that. Seems that there are a lot more teams looking to trade down than teams looking to trade up.

The Cards can't make their pick until they are on the clock. Should we stop talking about potential players that the Cards might pick?

Adam Carriker or Patrick Willis, Michieal Bush and Stewart Bradley would be a succesful draft for the Arizona Cardinals.

Is It Just A Case Of Logic?

Wis says that Thomas and Brown are about egual. Thomas is a better pass blocker and Brown is a better run blocker. It has been stated the team will run 55-60% of the time. Thus the pick is ..............

Trade down
and take Brown
An extra number two
Is great for me and you

GBR

Has a nice ring to it and sounds good...

...For possibly Madden 2007.

But in the real world: (a) how far on the value board would we have to drop to pick up another team's "number two" and (b) assuming we'd have to trade down several picks, how can you be so sure Brown would still be there when we pick?

Tell Whiz to get back with us, after Brown's 6th false start of the year.

I heard Wiz say on SIRIUS that Thomas and Brown are "close together." After saying nice things about Peterson being "special" he alluded to "three players we could really be happy with at #5. (I'm guessing that he meant Peterson, Thomas and Brown) but then again, (a) it's a coach who's saying it and (b) it's the day before the draft.

If I had to venture a guess, it would be that (a) we'll take Thomas if he's there at #5, (b) if Thomas is gone try to engineer a trade with Minnesota at #7 (where we'd take a calculated risk that the Redskins or trading partner won't take Brown at #6) by offering the chance to draft Peterson to the highest bidder. And (c) if we can't trade down, we'll take Brown at #5.

Regardless of what Wiz (and the Cardinal medics) say about Peterson, I don't think the Cardinals will pass up the opportunity to grab an offensive tackle (at a realistic value for the pick) in order to draft a special RB whose shoulder is 80% healed and may need a plate in it.

a] totally agree
b] a distinct possibility. only concern is if washington trades out to, say texas, or the bears who really need some ot work.
c] highly likely. and it ain't bad.

if thomas is gone and peterson is around, they might go peterson but they better hope the dice comes up with their number in round 2 for a "decent" prospect at ot.

we will know < 24 hours.

I do not find it impossible to believe that WE have a REAL evaluation available to make a decision on who best fits this team...watching a few games of A player, reading the pundits and trying to justify an argument does not quite equal the potential for evaluation by PROFESSIONAL COACHES AND SCOUTS... I guess whoever they decide to pick or trade down for will be based on who they feel best gives them what they need to implement their plan...just a hunch

I don't understand all this simpleton banter about trading down. Yeah, it's great if 1 of 31 other teams is stupid enough to give us more picks to move up. But it's just not a likely scenario. Honestly, if the coaching staff, scouts, and talent evaluators determine Brown to be on par w/ Thomas, then you take the guy who best fits what you're trying to accomplish. Neither would be bad picks. It just so happens that Brown may be more of the mean SOB we're looking at for in-line blocking.

Again, trading down is an ideal scenario if we still get one of the two. However, it's far easier said than done. Hopefully, the FO is not consumed w/ the media and fan outcry if we pick someone other than Thomas at #5 and he's still available. Hopefully, their decisions are based solely on input from the coaching staff and scouts, and what BEST fits their scheme.

Just my two (maybe three) cents!

It wouldn't surprise me if Gaines Adams is one of the three players that Whiz covets along with Thomas and Peterson.
