With Haley going to KC...

how many of you FF freaks are taking Dwayne Bowe as your first or second WR? Think Haley isn't seeing a poor man's fitz with this guy?

Myself, I'm letting LT go and franchising Fitz. Hopefully i can steal bowe with a number three pick.

Dbowe and Crabtree would be about as close as you can get to Boldin and Fitz in terms of potential and playing styles.. that would be interesting.

I wouldn't worry about that too much. I know Warner is waffling right now, but I think he's well aware that he is a fringe HOFer (a debate for another topic), and that another big year would put him in Canton.

I don't think he's overly selfish, but he is aware of his personal legacy, and he knows that he's got a team that he can lead back to the playoffs again in '09 (I don't say Super Bowl because as we all know, the game is just getting TO the playoffs, and let the chips fall where they may from there).

Fitz is now a FFL 1st round pick in any league larger than 6-8 teams, and certainly franchise worthy (I'm guessing the franchising team got him in the 2nd round last year... maybe 3rd, depending on the size of the league). It's certainly worth a 2nd or 3rd to keep him IMO.

Strong arm, great athlete, but he lacks the mental part. I think Haley might take a chance thinking if he could get Warner's head straight last year with the fumble issue, he can work magic with Rex. Wen Rex is on, he is on, but when he is off, he is his own worst enemy.

I can see your logic but let's think about this for a second. Why would Haley/Pioli, who as far as I can tell have no connection or past with Grossman take the time or chance to build their new toy around him? A wildly inconsistent QB that hasn't even shown the ability to stay healthy throughout his career does not sound like a good starting point for a new franchise. If they want to roll those dice, I think Thigpen is a better bet.

Something I hadn't noticed but is very worth mentioning is Thigpen put up 22 TD(18 Pass, 3 Rush, 1 Rec) compared to the media darlings Matt Ryan (17 total) and Flacco (16 total). And Thigpen did it in 14 games. Ryan had 11 picks, Flacco 12 and Thigpen 12 and all were right around 420 pass attempts. Put Thigpen in an environment like Atlanta or Baltimore gave their rookie QB's and he just might be a pretty darned good QB some day.

Originally being from KC I still follow the Chiefs and thought what little I saw of them this year I was more impressed with thigpen than I have been with Croyle who cannot seem to stay healthy, If I were to look at free agency I would take Jeff Garcia.

For a young, rebuilding team? I think KC wants a franchise type QB or at least in Thigpen, a young QB who, if he continues to develop can be built around. Garcia will be 40 by the end of next year. I don't see him fitting in with a young team. Especially if he wants to be a starter. Minnesota might be a good fit for him since they're in "win now" mode.

On paper, I could actually see him being a good fit for Dallas since he and Romo have a similar style of play but there's no way he would reunite with TO.

If Cassel is dealt by New England(which I think is a very distinct possibility since I still can't believe they'd be willing to pay him $14M), that would be an ideal spot for Garcia to possibly land. Brady's going to need time and Bellichick has had guys like Testaverde, Flutie, etc. as insurance in the past. If Garcia take any kind of a backup role, I think New England would be a place he would do it.

On NFL radio they were wondering if KC takes a flyer on Cassel. Then they speculated that they could probably have Leinart for much less. Jim Miller said that Haley told him he believed Leinart would end up being a franchise type quarterback in the NFL.
