Wizards @ Suns Saturday game thread 1-25-2025

The Suns start a three game home stand when the Wizards visit on Saturday.

Afterward, the Suns play the Clippers on Monday and the Timberwolves on Wednesday.

Washington is 6-36 on the season and have lost their last 11 games heading into a game at the Clippers on Thursday.

Phoenix is 22-21 on the season after defeating the Nets on Wednesday.

Last W for Washington was January 1st vs Chicago. As we saw recently though it's not an easy win. Richards will be more acclimated, which is nice. Hopefully a good W.

Clippers have Kawhi back, for now. He looks great from what I've seen. It's impressive how he can miss so much time and return like he's never been away.

I know the future isn't bright and won't delude myself about that. I still can't root against this team and will hope for the best, even if odds are against that happening.

I'd like the hole to quit being dug deeper because what we forfeit down the line won't make enough of a difference now to make this team a title contender. We're not a player away from contention. I'll take a hard fought series like Marbury's Suns vs San Antonio as the end result though because there's more joy going down swinging against a superior foe we steal a couple games against vs being swept by the Wolves, which sucked.

I am trying. Multiple teams are involved. We wanted to get things done before the weekend but it looks like we may go right until the end. I can say Butler is not the only player the Suns are looking at.

I think the vast majority of this board chose Ayton over Luka. Some who couldn't decide tried theorizing ways we could get both, which wasn't realistic, IMO. So don't fault yourself too much for that one.

Ayton for Kyrie is one I could have accepted in time and likely would have worked. I imagine more pieces were involved and leveraging the future more for Kyrie would have been a tough sell.

No. They’ve been letting quality players walk the last few years because their owner doesn’t want to pay the tax. They are not going to take on 20 mil of dead money.
