Hugh Grant as an oompah loompah and “from the Director of Paddington” make me a little curious to check this out.

I think it was a smart choice to go with a Paddington world as opposed to a Burton world.

It was funny to me. I saw this preview during the Blue Beetle movie, then the next trailer was Dune, with the same main actor in both Dune and Wonka....well I think it was.

Took the family to see it. Really enjoyed it. Wife and kids loved it. I thought the trailer looked good but was half expecting it to be a massive disappointment. Happy to say it was the opposite. It was a pleasant surprise. It did a great job of capturing the spirit of the original while doing something that simply was not a repeat. Little easter eggs to tie it to the 1971 film was a nice touch. IMO it was a worthy prequel which I can't say the vast majority of the time with prequels.

Thought this was pretty mid, as the kids would say.
