Also,

have you ever noticed that when an elevator is being used in a scene where there is no action, it is ready and available as soon as they hit the button. But if someone is being chased and they need that sucker to open they always have to wait.

Or like when someone calls another person in a movie and says, "Yo, check out channel 9" The person always tunes in just in time to get the report from its entirety? That never happens in real life.

That is one of the few reasons I enjoyed Ocean's 11.

In one scene, they had a conversation while waiting for the elevator, and continued it inside the elevator. The actually had to wait.

Like in horror movies, no matter if the person is an olympic track star and is just all out busting a$$ from the slowest moving zombie/monster/whatever, the zombie/monster/whatever is always just behind the person!!! :D
