The year after he took the Vkings to the SB, he was a free agent & signed with the woeful Boston Patriots. He also played that year with a badly injured knee that would sideline any QB both then & now. He felt obligated to earn his contract, so he was HEAVILY taped up & lost all ability to move. The Patriots were so bad, that they kept him out there to just put fannies in the seats.
Joe Kapp played in 2 Grey Cups, winning one of them. He spent his 1st 8 years in the CFL. He is in the CFL Hall of Fame. He was once traded for 4 players. When he came over to the Vikings, they had never even played in a playoff game. In his 2nd season there (1968)he led the Vikings to the playoffs. In 69 he threw 7 touchdowns against the defending NFL Champion Baltimore Colts. By now, he was an aged QB, whose knees were shot. Now please tell me what David Woodley ever accomplished to be considered a better QB than Kapp???
Well, I know Woodley sucked, I'm not going to argue that. Actually, I really don't want to fly the flag for Joe Kapp sucking the worst of all Super Bowl QBs. Woodley can take the crown.
