After losing 8 out of our last 10 including humiliating losses to the Clippers and the 76ers, I think its fair to say we are the worst team in the NBA. I really can't think of many teams that are worse than us.

Many college teams and D-League teams can put up 100 pts on us and shoot 50% or more.

Our defense is possibly worst in NBA history. Dragic, Lopez, Frye and Warrick don't even seem interested in playing the game. Such a disappointment considering our second unit played so well last season and now their just a joke.

Its only gonna be a matter of time before Nash demands a trade and this team will be the laughing stock of the NBA. That's if we're not the laughing stock already.

And please don't say "give them more time" Its been 2 weeks since the trade and we still SUCK. At this rate many will be saying 'give them more time" in April when our season will be long DONE.

Screw the SSOL offense. We need to go the half court offense like the rest of the NBA teams that have a winning reord. It will probably help defensively as well. Give Gentry a traditional roster with enough perimeter players AND enough big men. Trade Nash, Hill and Carter away and lets start the rebuilding process.

And if we can get something good in return for Dragic, Warrick, Lopez and Frye then we need to trade them.

As in it "looks" like the worst defense in NBA history but its not confirmed by stats or anything.

Defense is hard to quantify. I doubt they rank last all time in points allowed, opponents field goal percentage, and defensive rebounding, but I guess if they look like they do to you then I'm convinced. ;)

Fire Gentry because we need a fresh start and he doesn't seem to have a clue about defense. Hire Dan Majerle as the HC. Trade Nash, Hill and Carter away and lets start the rebuilding process.

Technically its a SSOL hybrid offense, but its still an offense that never won anything important for anybody anywhere.

I disagree about Gentry though,i'd be willing to give him a shot to continue coaching after scrapping this garbage system and giving him some legit personnel.

Dan Majerle as Head Coach? You gotta be kidding. He's the life-of-the-party but he's a flake. Not figurehead material -- with the team, the Press or the fans.

Have you seen how he comes up behind Gary Bender and Eddie Johnson at the start of each home game, stands there figuring out what to do . . . then does something that you'd expect from a 14 year old?

Tonight vs. the 76ers, he pretended he was an elevator and lowered himself out of sight. Funny stuff - yes. Head Coach material - no way.

Give him a microphone like Cedric Ceballos and let him entertain the fans.

I disagree for only one reason. Knowing the SSOL system is EXACTLY why the Suns made him head coach. He knows the system and can run it. He was the perfect match for last years team.

I think what your seeing in Gentry is that you remove a major piece like Amare and add some other pieces that don't exactly fit in the system.....his deficiencies as a coach are shinning through.

IMO....if the Nash era or SSOL era is done.....Gentry should be too.

I think Gentry needs to shake things up. It's time. He needs to make some changes to the starting lineup. This group is not and will not get it done. PERIOD.

On the flip side, he can't keep changing up rotations all the time. We never see the same lineups continually in games. It's frustrating to watch, it's obviously frustrating to play and I think it's a big part of why we are so damned inconsistent.

I get that but the Suns dig themselves in holes at the start of every game. Aside from Nash...every position on the floor needs to be evaluated to put your best guys in the starting lineup.

We all keep saying we want the Suns to change their philosophy and start putting defense as a priority. However, the current starters have proven over and over they can't get it done.

Aside from just letting this team play it out and completely ripping it apart at the end of the season....not sure what else they can do.

No matter what one thinks of Suns offense, it is the Suns defense or lack thereof that is the problem. How quickly some fans forget that the SSOL and the new hybrid offensive version has gotten the Suns to the WCF's three times. Gentry has tried to install a defensive focus which worked well enough last season. However, Sarver/ Babby has given Gentry two plates of scramble eggs to put together. The offseason signings and the latest trades. We agree Gentry needs more time with all the player changes but it is the defense not the offense that is the current problem. I'd like to see the Suns do at least one more thing before they completely give up on the season and abandon the ship... sign another PG to backup Nash that can contribute on defense and run the offense. It looks like Dragic has turned into fools gold.

You may be right. I'm betting you've seen more of this team than i have this season.
Either way,i wont be heartbroken if Gentry isn't retained in the event of a blow up....i'd be the first one in line to light the fuse on the Nash era actually, but i'm sure that comes as no surprise to anyone here who knows me. :)

Right lack of D is a major problem, because the players needed to run this offensive system(including Nash) are not any good defensively.Good lord people....Enough is enough.

I haven't forgotten,i just take it for what it was....a nice run by an overachieving team that got hot at the right time, good times but it doesn't help the fact that this team still has no future and is among the worst defensive teams in the league.

Someone please explain to me why the hell so many fans are so attatched to this crappy system?....and are still hanging on to 2007?
Geez Louise.

Seriously, you're ready to quit on a young player like Dragic while still talking about getting someone else to backup Nash? At this point? Come on....

+ a Gazillion.

No disrespect to anyone in particular but i'm convinced that a good portion of the PHX Suns fanbase is delusional....and was somehow brainwashed by Mike D'Antoni before he skipped town.

Your not going to be a defensive team when Frye is a starter along with Nash. If Nash is a point guard you need to have two capable big men in the paint. And I know Stoudemire sucks on defense as well but he is better than Frye. Frye's game is actually important to Phoenix when he is on the court. His 3 point shooting spreads out the opposing defense but nowadays its all ugly bricks and no one will guard him. Whose going to take the pressure off Gortat for rebounds?

As good as Gentry was last year, I'm finding major flaws in his coaching this year. It could be the lack of serious talent but nonetheless this team doesn't look energized most nights other than Nash, Hill, Dudley, and Childress who go all out. What is the reasoning behind benching Lopez? He started out well and he was immediately yanked and we never saw him again.

The same reason he always is. He makes some bone headed plays and lets guys drive around him looking like he is standing still. That is the one thing Gentry did right. The guy doesn't rebound and doesn't defend. Aside from his own guy last night, he let everyone penetrate the lane. Your center is suppose to keep guys out of the lane...not hold the door open.

Now factor in when he does get rebounds (which is not often)...... HE CAN'T put it back in most of the time. He has snagged rebounds but because he plays below the rim link no 7 footer I have seen in a long time.....he can't capitalize. Also, he has really bad hands. I have seen him drop so many damn good passes.

Lopez plays himself out of almost every single game. Gentry knows this team can put up points. So, if Lopez is putting in 10 points playing OK offensively and still gets benched.....what does that tell you? Gentry is looking for some defensive and rebounding presence from his bigs. He has said it several times that what we need. Something Lopez has yet to deliver.

Lopez is no starting center in the NBA.

I think there are a few factors. Robin's tapping rebounds rather than grabbing them strongly on the offensive end is weak for a big Center. And he doesn't seem to have sure hands in catching the ball. Or the dependability to finish strongly at the basket.

In the short time that Gortat has been here, he is certainly our lead Center in terms of minutes played. He just doesn't start the 1st and 3rd quarters. I hope that changes soon.

He and Nash need to be on the floor together right from the start of the game. And Gortat needs the assurance of his Coach that he is "the man".

Plus, our ongoing problem. Right through last night vs. the Sixers. One big man on the court (with three Wings and a Point Guard) sets an obstacle course for the Center, no matter who he is.

Basketball was designed to have two big men on the court. The teams who stick to it are the ones who prosper.

Most fans know Nash's limitations on defense, however, Nash is not the reason the Suns are mired down in mud right now. Actually the Suns have the makings to be at least an average defensive team with

Are you still thinking Dragic is the PG of the future? I'd like to keep Dragic to play a role like LB played (1-2), however, the Suns need a true PG that knows how to run an offense to backup Nash. Also are you ever going to quit blaming DA and Nash for all the Suns woes even though they have been a very successful franchise under their leadership? Don't minimize the Suns success by calling them an "overachieving team" even though this could be construed as a compliment. ;)

If you back off and take a look at the Suns from an outside perspective, most of the Suns problems can be attributed to a mishmash of different players being thrown together twice, before and during this season, and the loss of Stoudemire. I think the casual fan would just say the Suns fall from grace can be attributed to the loss of Stoudemire. IMO, the Suns do have the players to play defense but they are running out of time to make it work.

First of all my DA comment was meant as a joke...and unless you idolize the guy it should've produced at least a chuckle.

I will minimize last years WCF run if i want to....there's been zero momentum created by that WCF appearance.

If you're still thinking that putting pieces around Nash to make a title run is a good idea then i suggest that YOU step outside the box and wake up my friend....seriously.

Finally, the SUNS don't have the system or the players to be even remotely considered a good defensive team....how can you make that kind of claim?

The run is over Mainstreet. Wouldn't you as a fan like to watch your favorite team find its way back among the elite with a legit chance to contend? Thats a rhetorical question....of course you do. Nash and this system are no longer the answer.

Suns desparetly need a PF that can protect the rim and help Gortat.

I felt sad for Gortat yesterday because he was the only big man in the paint and the 76ers would just swarm him.

Is Taj Gibson on the block? Can he play defense & board the ball? If so we need to make a move for him. And word on the street is that Chicago is looking for a SG, the position that we're stacked on.

I'll give Chicago Nash, our entire roster,Larry Fitzgerald, the kitchen sink and our draft pick for Joakim Noah & Derrick Rose.

Substitute Amendola and Bradford for Fitzy and I'm right there with you. Somehow, though, I doubt the Bulls would bite.

Chuckle.

Well the loss of Stoudemire certainly shuffled the deck.

If you're still thinking that putting pieces around Nash to make a title run is a good idea then i suggest that YOU step outside the box and wake up my friend....seriously.

Nash is a fading star. I don't deny this. This is why I want the Suns to get a backup PG that may be a step towards the future. Dragic is not that person.

Finally, the SUNS don't have the system or the players to be even remotely considered a good defensive team....how can you make that kind of claim?

The Suns need an improved defense. I thought Gentry made a step forward in this area last season but now with all the new players the Suns have added, it makes their defense look like swiss cheese. I really can't tell now if Gentry can't coach defense or the players need time to gel. IMO, Gortat, Lopez, Pietrus, Hill, Childress and Dudley have the ability to play defense... plus Dragic if his game reappears.

The run is over Mainstreet. Wouldn't you as a fan like to watch your favorite team find its way back among the elite with a legit chance to contend? Thats a rhetorical question....of course you do. Nash and this system are no longer the answer.

Well, the Suns are team without a star in his prime so the run may well be over. At this point the Suns cannot even be considered a good team. I think when you refer to "system" I think you are basically referring to Nash. I think Nash is frustrated as well. If I'm Nash, I would be thinking about leaving. However, he is very loyal. It's unfair to ask Nash to create chemistry twice in one season with different players after leading a different Suns team to the WCFs last season.

I guess our differences always comes down to one thing, how do the Suns rebuild. I'm for anything that starts making the Suns better now and into the future.
