WTF? You said GM I said he was talking about Flores. Now I am in a small group?
Sorry for the confusion. I thought you (he) meant about this GM hiring Flores and then subsequently hiring the guy that is firing the suit.

My sincere apologies.

I love Jim Caldwell. If he’d be willing to be OC to Flores …. I’d have to strongly consider it.
I thought Caldwell just signed somewhere?

I understand the OC concerns.

I think Flores can be a great HC. Taking defense and offense out of it and just looking at HC qualities I think he has it all.

But I'm also aware that OC would be crucial for him. There are plenty of guys out there to choose from though.

I think he was QB coach but he had a health issue and had to step away

My bad - you are correct. I thought I read he was the OC but he wasn't - Asst HC and QB coach.

This guy was the OC in year 1.

Yup. Quite rightly. He gave up 2 years guaranteed money for principles.
Ya I know.

It would be a total MB bs move to hire Brian Flores to mitigate damage coming from the wilks end of the lawsuit.

I do believe BF got a raw deal, but I’m not interested in hiring the dude because he was a coach fired over a game throwing conspiracy who is black.

I just now realized the GM was hired on MLK/civil rights day. Huh.

Really hope I’m wrong, but this seems so Bidwill.

Don’t really care about Flores relationship with Murray.
Cardinals aren’t winning anything with Murray at QB anyway.
I like Flores. He’s a no nonsense guy and holds players accountable.
That’s what’s needed.

He also couldn't figure out how to communicate with his GM to get FAs signed who worked for his squad. I feel like I have heard that somewhere else...

I would be okay with flores but the staff would be crucial... would want coordinators on both sides of the ball, with special emphasis on experience for the offense.

maybe Frank Reich wants an easier job than HC for a couple years?
Then Vic Fangio for DC once Payton decides to stay in the booth for another year?

I'd be pretty happy with a Flores/Caldwell/Bowles leadership team.

Some believe he took bribes and tanked. Well subsequently he said he didn't and never would. I wonder how you square that. Either he is the type of person who takes bribes and tanks or his statement means he is a liar. Which is it? Neither of those scenarios' commands respect. This team needs someone who has a bigger personality than anybody on the team or they are going to get walked over. Not sure Flores is that guy.

If you don't have a legit offensive staff as a defensive coordinator transitioning to HC, you are making the hill climb even steeper. For Flores, Vance, Ryans, etc... it all comes down to staff.

Why do people seemingly assume that a H-C with an offensive background is, by extension an O-C and QB coach?

They need 'critical' staff also on both sides of the ball.
