Wow, how quickly your "fans" turn against you.

Dave, I am pissed off about this trade, but I realize that overall it was a beneficial deal to Phoenix. I just don't understand why everyone is turning against Steph all of the sudden. That's all.:(

I didn't say he was "selfish", I said he isn't "totally unselfish".

It certainly doesn't work on team where everybody is better at going to the basket than at shooting jumpers. His penitrate and kick out got "open looks" but not enough points.

I'm not sure Eisley is a true distributor either. Vujanic may be the Suns point guard of the future with Barbosa playing both PG and SG.

I'm not sure that Steph is unselfish but more untrusting of his teammates.

That's a bit of a stretch isn't it?
Turned against? All anyone said here is that maybe his style didn't gell with the others. I think everyone on this board have
been nothing short of appreciative for what he gave the team.
If the C's felt Amare and he could not work together...which one would you trade given the offer that was made? Not saying that was the reason, just there are allot of inside things we have no idea of. Support the team, not one player. I personally don't have a favorite player in sports, with the way the shuffle these guys around I find it much easier on the soul to just root for the team as a whole.

I don't think pointing out a player's strengths and weaknesses involves turning against them. For example, I remain a believer in jj but get awfully irriated with his shot selection.

I never suggested that Marbury be traded, but I pointed out things about his game I wished he change (early three's and too much dribbling). But he is a great player and I hate seeing him go.

It is all part of being a fan. :lmao:

I really have to wonder how so many pepole think the Suns are the only team in the NBA who trade players. The reason to trade is to improve the team in one way or another. The only team I can think of that recently has been consistent in finishing near the top who hasn't done a lot of trading is SA Spurs.

Before this is all said & done, the Suns will be a better team. I liked Steph a lot, but he was the best player on the team. Perhaps, IF Amare gets as good as most of us agree he is capable of, we may have been able to put together a title contender with some good supporting cast. I really don't think Steph would have worked that well with Amare and as far as that goes, Amare needs to regain the attituide he had when he was drafted.
A lot of the attitude of the players on a team is a result of the coaching staff. I'm willing to give this Itialian guy a chance and I like some of the changes I've seen in line-up's & plays called, but he needs to figure out how to get these high paid kids to want to beat the crap out of everyone they play. Until we have a coach who can get the best out of a team, nigth in & night out, we will never be a title contender. The reason the Suns did as well as they did last year is because they played with "that chip on their sholders. I still say the best addition the Suns could make is to hire a motivator to assist the head coach whoever it may be. The motivator wouldn't even have to know much about coaching basketball - just get the guys fired-up every night.

I wish it was that easy. George Karl was great at getting his team wound up, but eventually it burned out every team he was with. Personally, I'm a believer in discipline - they play hard no matter how they feel. Teams that have to be "up" to play well constantly have ups and downs.
