I would. Obviously, not for Carroll type money but a long term type deal.

Durable, ascending type player.

I think I would be okay with losing Lourdes, if we locked up Alek!

I like Lourdes’ energy but guys that hit .250 with 20 homers and average defense are not hard to find. Thomas has defensive ability that will play for a while and I believe he’ll continue to get better with the bat.

I figure Lawler will be next kid to lock up but yeah if you can buy out his arbitration years for less than $40M over life of deal then go for it.

.638 OPS over 700 plate appearances. That’s not a nothing sample size. If he takes a leap in 2024 then sure.

He is .773 against righties and he is 23.

We absolutely should lock him up. There is a reason everyone wanted him at the trade deadline. Torey has misused this kid to a fault.
